PARIVISION, Xtreme Gaming, and NAVI, fall short at PGL Wallachia Season 7; Playoff teams set

PGL Wallachia Season 7 Group Stage has come to an end. Sixteen teams arrived in Bucharest with their sights set on the trophy, but only eight have secured a place in the playoffs while the remaining teams have already been sent packing.

Team Liquid and Team Spirit reached the milestone in dominant fashion, winning all three of their opening series. Team Yandex, Aurora, and HEROIC soon joined them as the first teams to lock in their playoff spots.

Fans already had seen both Team Nemesis and MOUZ eliminated earlier in the week after suffering three consecutive losses.. They were later followed by Yellow Submarine, Team Falcons, and OG as the Swiss stage continued to narrow the field.

The final day of the group stage determined the remaining playoff spots, with three teams advancing and three more seeing their tournament run come to an end.

Final eliminations

Xtreme Gaming and Wang "Ame" Chunyu continue to struggle to find consistent results this season. Their strongest performances came at DreamLeague Seasons 27 and 28, where they secured fourth-place finishes, but those results have been surrounded by more modest placements elsewhere. Their run at Wallachia ultimately ended at the hands of fellow Chinese squad Vici Gaming, who themselves only entered the tournament as a last-minute replacement for Power Rangers after visa complications forced the original team to withdraw.

Meanwhile, Natus Vincere briefly reignited hopes of a return to the top tier after reaching the BLAST Slam VI grand final, their first appearance in a tier-one final in nearly six years. The young roster promoted from NAVI Junior had proven many doubters wrong during that run, but the momentum has not continued since. At Wallachia, BetBoom Team delivered a quick and decisive 2–0 sweep to end NAVI’s campaign.

PARIVISION were the final team eliminated from the group stage after a heartbreaking 2–1 loss to Tundra Esports. The series-deciding game appeared to be firmly in PARIVISION’s control for much of its duration, but the match slipped away in devastating fashion late in the game. Parker, standing in for Pure, delivered one of the standout performances of the day with a flawless showing on Templar Assassin, one of his signature heroes, ultimately turning the game on its head. For PARIVISION, the loss marks another difficult chapter in what has been a rebuilding period for the roster, which is still searching for consistency despite recent changes and the presence of Puppey guiding the team as coach.

The tournament now shifts into the playoff phase. Action resumes Thursday, March 12, with the Upper Bracket Quarterfinals, beginning at 09:00 CET.
