Post TI 2026 shuffle log; Confirmed roster changes for the upcoming Dota 2 season
The International 2026 has come to an end with Team Spirit's impressive run culminating in a stunning 3:2 victory over TEAM VISION, making history claiming their THIRD Aegis of Champions.
The new competitive season after The International 2026 is set to commence with PGL Wallachia Season 9 September 17th with a $1,000,000 prize pool. The studio LAN event will feature 16 teams entering the competition.
Teams and players are starting to look at their options before the new Dota 2 season is expected to begin.

September 13 - Team Liquid
Team Liquid have parted ways with Marcus "Ace" Christensen, bringing his time with the organization to an end after almost a full year.
Although the season was marked by ups and downs, they ultimately were granted a direct invite and returned to The International in 2026. Liquid's journey ended in 5th-6th place at the hands of Team Spirit.
Neither Ace nor Team Liquid have announced what comes next as his next destination is currently unknown and Liquid have yet to reveal who will take over the vacant offlane position heading into the new season.
September 11 - Xtreme Gaming
After a shocking display at TI 2026, XG’s rebuild looks to improve the way in which the Chinese team plays in the new season. Announced on September 11th via the organisation’s Weibo account, the rebuilt roster sees only Ame remaining, while four new players join the team.

September 9 OG
OG have announced the departure of Marc Polo "Raven" Fausto, Erin "Yopaj" Ferrer and Timothy "TIMS" Randrup as the organization begins reshaping its Dota 2 roster for the new season.
September 7 PlayTime
PlayTime have announced that Elvis "Scofield" Peña will take a temporary break from competitive Dota 2.
The organization confirmed the news on Instagram, saying it respects and supports Scofield's decision and hopes the time away will give him an opportunity to "rest and recharge." PlayTime did not provide a timeline for his return, but indicated that the door remains open for the veteran support to rejoin the team.
Scofield, one of South America's longest-standing professional players, had previously spoken about considering taking time away from competition. For now, both the wording of PlayTime's announcement and its message that it hopes to welcome him back suggest a break rather than a retirement from professional Dota 2. There is no official information on who will assume his position on the team or if there will be any other roster changes before the official season kicks off.
September 6 Team Falcons
Three years in Dota 2 may not feel like a long time, but for Falcons, they managed to conquer almost everything on offer. Although the players might remain actively professionally, Team Falcons, as an organisation, has announced that they will be stepping away from Dota 2, leaving the roster without an official home.
The departures leave John "Natsumi-" Vargas and Andrei "skem" Ong as the two players from the lineup whose futures OG have yet to address.
While the organisation is now gone, their name is forever etched into the Dota 2 history books, along with the players and their coach, Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling, who retired shortly after TI 2026.

With the roster shuffle still in full swing, there is no telling where these talented players may end up. At the current time of writing, no further details have been given, but it is possible that we continue to see them playing together or on different squads for the next season.
September 5 GamerLegion
Daniel Chan "Ghost" Kok Hong joined GamerLegion in March of 2026, as the team continued to change their position 1 player. Unfortunately, without much going the team's way at the major events, the player has now been let go from the roster. Once again, the last shining hope of NA Dota 2 is without a carry, as the new season is about to kick off.
September 4 Xtreme Gaming
After a season of incredibly poor results, compounded further by an early Group Stage exit from TI 2026, Xtreme Gaming announced one of the craziest shuffles we have seen during this period. Four players depart from the team, which now stands with only a single member - Wang "Ame" Chunyu. At the current time of writing, no further confirmations of the new roster have been revealed.
August 30 Yakult Brothers
Li "项羽" Longwu parted ways with Yakult Brothers in time to compete at BLAST SLAM VIII qualifiers. Veteran player Xiang "Beyond" Zhenghong stepped in to his role, helping the team overpower Team Resilance 2:1 in the grand finals of the qualifier to land a spot at the upcoming event at the end of the month.
August 29 Team Resliance
After Team Resiliance placed 9-13th at The International, the team announced on weibo that Lin "planet" Hao's contract had expired and he was now a free agent. He has been replaced by He "TK" Boyi.
August 26 LGD Gaming
LGD Gaming returned to Dota 2 just a few months ago when they signed South American roster consisting of:
- Yuma Benjamin “Yuma” Langlet
- Santiago Olivos “TaiLung” Agüero Gustavo
- Adrián Céspedes “Wisper” Dobles
- Thiago “Thiolicor” de Oliveira Cordeiro
- Matheus Santos “KJ” Jungles Diniz
The short-lived project has come to an end, with the contracts of the team's players and staff expiring on August 24.
LGD came within one series of reaching the playoffs in Shanghai. After taking the opening game against Team Yandex in the final Elimination Round series, they ultimately fell 1-2, ending both their TI run and what would prove to be the roster's final tournament under the organization.
The South American players and staff are free to explore their options ahead of the next competitive season. There is no official word from LGD if they will form a new and/or local roster for the upcoming season.
August 23 Aui_2000
As one of the most famous players in Dota 2, Kurtis "Aui_2000" Ling’s career has spanned over a decade within the game. From winning TI back in 2015 with Evil Geniuses, to coaching some of the best players and teams as they went on to lift the Aegis of Champions, his career is one that will never be forgotten. As a coach, he helped both Team Falcons and Tundra Esports to their famous victories, as a player, he has been through it all, and as a personality in the Dota 2 scene, he is unforgettable.
Although the recently concluded TI did not see Kurtis and Falcons defend their title, the coach gave an interview with Esports.ru which pointed towards his exit from the game.
August 24 Virtus.pro
Virtus.pro announced the decision to drop the full roster through its Telegram channel, confirming that it will remain in Dota 2 despite releasing the current squad.
The foundations of the roster were laid in September 2025, when Enzo "Timado" Gianoli, Abed "Abed" Yusop and Tal "Fly" Aizik joined Virtus.pro alongside coach Kanishka "BuLba" Sosale. Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek followed in November, reuniting with Abed, Fly and BuLba after previously playing alongside them at Shopify Rebellion in 2023. Kirill "Hellscream" Lagutik completed the lineup later that month.
August 19 Rekonix
Southeast Asian team Rekonix released their Dota 2 roster in full with a heartfelt message to fans. Although they have managed to find their way into Tier 1 events recently through regional qualifiers, they had not been able to make it very far. They even brought in Ivan Borislavov “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov as their coach.
There is no indication if they plan to rebuild soon or anytime in the upcoming season.
August 16 ViCI Gaming
Only a few hours after their defeat and elimination, Vici Gaming’s roster disbanded with a short message "GG disbanded" on Weibo.
The players of the VG roster that have departed are:

July 16 Team Nemesis
Before The International 2026 even began, Team Nemesis already began making moves. The current roster was formed at the end of April following a major rebuild. They retained Anucha "Jabz" Jirawong while signing Vladislav "rubikon155" Gaidau, João "4nalog" Giannini, Rodrigo "Lelis" Santos, and later Luke "Yamsun" Wang, with Filipe "Astini" Ribeiro joining as head coach. The overhaul came after the departures of March, Q, 23savage, Mac, and Jaunuel, as the organization shifted toward an international lineup ahead of the Esports World Cup and The International 2026 qualifiers.
