Get rdy: Competitive guide for May 4-10th

A new week is upon us and that means events and competitive matches will be gearing up or winding down. With this season's packed schedule it is easy to miss something, so we've compiled a weekly planning guide to keep track of what is going on.

League of Legends

LCK

In the LCK, KT Rolsterundefeated streak came to an unceremonious end as Hanwha Life Esports (HLE)](https://rdy.gg/en/lol/teams/742) and low table BRION served them two victories. HLE move to 9-1 after defeating KT and T1 in a week. In week 6, HLE have two matches against DRX and FEARX with the latter celebrating a major trade.

LEC

The LEC are on the road again for the second LEC Roadtrip week, hosted by Movistar KOI at Madrid Arena, Madrid. KOI will attempt to save their playoff hopes with three matches against some of the best in the league.

LCS

The LCS' two undefeated teams, C9 and Team Liquid, face playoff hopefuls LYON and Flyquest in their toughest challenges of the season so far in LCS week 6.

And after EWC qualified seemingly exposed top flight teams and reignited the franchising debate, EWC qualified continue.

Counter-Strike 2

PGL Astana

Vitality won BLAST. Anyone know the French for 'quelle surprise'?

Fortunately, there's two tournaments going on simultaneously very soon, with Saturday marking the start of PGL Astana where Vitality aren't there. We're guaranteed a non-Vitality winner! Isn't God great?

PGL Astana is set to take place in Astana, Kazakhstan from May 9-17th with 16 teams competing for the trophy and lion's share of the $800,000 prize pool.

It's a great chance for FURIA and Spirit to get back on track, and for MOUZ to bed in their new recruit xelex. It'll be worth watching the grand final and everything!

That does, however, mean we're all but guaranteed a Vitality win at IEM Atlanta starting next Monday. Two tournaments without them is too much to ask, it seems.

Dota 2

1win Essence I

1win Essence I is the first of what seems to be an online series for Europe and CIS. A total of 14 teams have been invited to compete for the lion's share of the $100,000 prize pool. While that amount seems to be on par with the Tier 2 events, this event is boasting some of the biggest names in Dota right now. Tundra, Team Liquid, Falcons, AURORA, PARIVISION, Yandex will all be on hand competling —although they won't compete until the playoffs begin on Friday, May 8th.

So far, Nigma Galaxy are fully undefeated. It's giving hope for a renaissance of the org. Nigma recently secured a spot in DreamLeague Season 29 after going through to the grand finals undefeated. Although they lost the best-of-five it was enough to claim their place.

Regional Affairs

Local and regional fans have some treats on the menu this week.

Europe

Another week, another European Pro League. Season 37 takes place until May 12th with 12 teams, mostly from Eastern European (as usual), competing for the $20,000 prize. While these are an ongoing, frequent event, the most interesting thing to note is Team Nemesis competing with their new roster:

  • Vladislav “rubikon” Gaidau
  • João Gabriel “4nalog” Giannini Santos
  • Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong
  • Rodrigo “Lelis” Lelis Santos
  • Jaunuel “Januel” Arcilla

The team is also competing in 1w Essence but has yet to play.

Southeast Asia

EPL World Series: Southeast Asia Season 15 kicked off on Friday and will continue through the 14th. The 15th iteration of this series sees eight local teams competing for the $10,000 prize pool. GLYPH is among those present.
