Get rdy: Competitive guide for August 24th-31st

A new week is upon us and that means events and competitive matches will be gearing up or winding down. With this season's packed schedule it is easy to miss something, so we've compiled a weekly planning guide to keep track of what is going on.

League of Legends

LCK

The LCK regular season wrapped up with Gen.G taking the top spot and grabbing top seed in the playoffs. T1s final weeks losing streak meant they fell to fourth place and will have a difficult path through the playoffs this week to make sure they qualify for Worlds 2026.

The Rise group of LCK will compete in the Play-in stage, with the top teams able to advance to the playoffs and potentially head to worlds.

LEC

After one more week of regular season matches, the LEC Summer will head into its playoff bracket. As ever, G2 Esports seem primed to win the split, but Karmine Corp are looking to upset the balance of power in the region.

LCS

The LCS is the region with the most weeks left to play, and it's hard to pick a winner yet, but LYON and C9 are set to be front-runners as the season closes later next month.

Counter-Strike 2

EWC

As the old adage goes; there's no rest for the wicked.

As EWC ends in a flurry - a far more interesting and enjoyable experience than in previous years, it must be said - BLAST Open Porto starts. We'll barely have time to think about EWC before G2 vs Aurora, a pretty highkey banger, at 11AM CEST on Wednesday.

We'll have to condense our thoughts into two days worth of content. Very troubling for all involved.

Dota 2

The International 2026

After an amazing Group Stage, followed by an epic four days of playoffs, only the Grand Final remained to crown the team that would be victorious at The International 2026. Team Spirit and TEAM VISION went head-to-head in what would be the final series of TI 2026 – a best-of-five to decide who would be the champion. And it was an absolute banger of a series.

Games 2 and 5 of the grand finals were some of the best we have seen all year, with both teams playing out of their minds. They were the types of games that make TI feel magical.

A few other series definately worth watching —or rewatching (multiple times even) are:

• Game 1 TEAM VISION vs BoomBoys (Upper Bracket Quarter Finals)
• Game 1 Team Spirit vs Iron Wing (Upper Bracket Quarter Finals)
• The end of Game 1 Team Liquid vs Yandex (Upper Bracket Quarter Finals)
• Game 3 of Team Liquid vs Team Falcons (Lower Bracket Round 1)
• Game 2 of Team Spirit vs TEAM VISION (Upper Bracket Semi Finals)
• Game 1 of Yandex vs Nigma Galaxy (Upper Bracket Semi Finals)

While there isn't much that can cure the post TI blues, there are a few regional events and open qualifiers getting ready to start. For those inspired by Team Spirit's threepeat, open qualifiers begin on August 26th for RES Unchained in Europe and Southeast Asia on August 26th.

BLAST SLAM VIII closed qualifiers begin already on August 29th. This might be a chance to sneak a peek into what China's landscape is trying to reshape and reform itself as.
