Team Spirit survive a bloodbath at PGL Wallachia Season 5

Team Spirit and Aurora Gaming put on a show for the second elimination series of the PGL Wallachia Season 5 playoffs.
After Tundra Esports saw their PGL Wallachia Season 5 tournament life ended at the hands of NAVI, it was time for the second elimination of the playoffs. Aurora Gaming and Team Spirit went head-to-head for the first time since BLAST Slam III in early May 2025. Having never beaten Spirit in a full series, Aurora would need to finally take them down in order to move on to the next round of lower bracket matches.
With both teams having prospective claims to both the upcoming Esports World Cup and The International 2025, this tournament stood as a precursor for their chances moving forward. While the upper bracket eluded both teams after day 1 playoff losses, they would need to pull out all the stops to move forward at PGL Wallachia Season 5.
Spirit continues to dominate Aurora
Kicking things off, we saw a masterclass Morphling from Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk, as he was untouched in game one. Although there were moments where Aurora seemed that they could turn things around, Spirit was able to stand firm and claim an easy series lead. Moving forward, it looked like Aurora had finally found their footing with a blistering start to game two. While losing momentum at times due to a few team fights, Aurora was on the brink of tying up the series.

However, Spirit’s “never give up” attitude proved to be too much, as they found one massive team fight to secure the win. With 92 kills on the board in total for the bloodbath game, which lasted nearly an hour, Spirit managed to secure the 2-0 series victory, as Aurora threw in the towel.
After a perfect Group Stage, Spirit’s drop into the lower bracket looked as though they were down and out, but with the win today, they move forward to await their next opponent. For Aurora, they now get to relax before heading to FISSURE Universe Episode 5, coming in just a few days.
