The LCS’ Team Liquid has defeated LPL representative Anyone’s Legend to eliminate the Chinese squad ahead of the Worlds 2026 playoffs.

Liquid pulled off the shock upset in a best-of-three series on Monday, Oct. 26 sending AL home earlier after a 2-0 loss.

Team Liquid upsets Anyone's Legend

The victory marks the first time in seven years that Team Liquid has defeated a Korean or Chinese team at a World Championships.

In the match, TL’s Sean "Yeon" Sung had a standout performance, anchoring his team in game two with a 10/1/4 performance on Xayah.

Korean import Lim "Quid" Hyeon-seung channeled Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok in the first game, picking up the Galio and playing to a similar level as the Unkillable Demon King in that first clash.

For the LPL’s Anyone’s Legend, it’s a disaster. The LPL’s top seed was humiliated in convincing fashion. Their drafts looked out of place, their rotations slow, and their standard of play sub-par.

For a team helmed by legendary jungler Lee "Tarzan" Seung-yong, this was not the international performance expected of the squad. The LPL now has just two representatives remaining in contention.

And for NA, a new spark of hope has illuminated from the unfortunate loss yesterday.

In the other elimination match, LOS handed Team Secret Whales a ticket home when the Vietnamese team failed to live up to the grade.

Worlds 2026 continues on Wednesday, with more eliminations on the way.
