KeSPA unveils South Korean national esports uniform ahead of Asian Games and ENC

The Korea Esports Association (KeSPA) has unveiled a new official uniform for South Korea’s national esports teams ahead of the country’s participation in the Asian Games and Esports Nations Cup later this year.

Modelled and showcased by multiple South Korean esports players, including T1’s Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok the new uniform was revealed by official post on Friday, Aug. 7. The design reportedly takes its inspiration from traditional Korean ceramics, while embodying the “Aesthetics of the Strong.” KeSPA stated in their reveal post that the design ‘reflects the confidence and dignity of the national team.’

Beyond just a uniform reveal, KeSPA also announced an accompanying capsule collection. The collection is intended to give fans a way to ‘engage with the national team’s identity outside of esports competitions.’ These capsules showcase the same ceramic-inspired design

The new designs are confirmed to be worn by South Korean national teams at the Asian Games and related national-team events. It’s expected that the ENC is one of those events. For the Asian Games finals, however, players will wear versions without official sponsor branding in accordance with competition regulations.

KeSPA is South Korea’s national governing body for esports and the oldest and most storied national esports organization in the world. The governing body oversees Korean esports, and contributed to the country’s national esports program at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, where esports made its debut as an official medal sport, and is involved in preparations for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.

However, the uniform launch comes after KeSPA most recently made headlines for a public dispute with the organizers of the Esports Nations Cup (ENC), the Esports Foundation (EF).

After initially being announced as a partner, the relationship broke down in April amid a disagreement over the selection process. KeSPA objected to what it described as interference in the composition of the national team, while the EF said coach and player selections were part of the tournament’s established system.

The two sides ultimately reached an agreement in May with KeSPA retaining responsibility for selecting South Korea’s national team.

The new South Korean esports uniform and capsule collection will go on sale Aug. 28 through uniform provider Goal Studio’s official website. Other sites will reportedly also stock the uniform following its release.
