The Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) has officially announced the players that will make up Team Korea of Esports at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan, later this year.
Revealed by Instagram post on Monday, May 18, the six competitors and coach who will represent Team Korea in League of Legends were detailed, with some of the best players from Korea’s LCK set to head to Japan to compete.

Team Korea’s LoL representatives for the 2026 Asian Games revealed.
The players and coach selected for Team Korea by KeSPA for the 2026 Asian Games are as follows:
- Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu
- Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok
- Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong
- Ryu "Keria" Min-seok
- Choi "Zeus" Woo-je
- Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo
- Coach: Kang "Hirai" Dong-hoon
Unveiled alongside national representatives for PUBG, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Pokémon Unite, Street Fighter 6, Tekken, and other titles, the six players and coach Hirai represent the top flight of talent from the LCK.
Faker and Keria play alongside each other on reigning Worlds champions T1, while Gumayusi, Zeus, and Zeka are teammates on Hanwha Life Esports. Jungler Canyon hails from Gen.G while coach Hirai currently helms KT Rolster, making this line-up very representative of the LCK’s best teams.
While this lineup is specifically for the Asian Games, it’s speculated that a similar team could be fielded for the upcoming ENC.
KeSPA, the governing body of Korean esports recently concluded a dispute with the ENC over the latter’s selection methods. KeSPA has historically held the final say on the Team Korea of Esports selection process, and made it clear it wouldn't allow other organizations to influence its decisionmaking.
It was speculated that the ENC had put pressure on the organization to field famous and high-profile players, such as legendary world champion and most-famous esports player in the world Faker. It seems, however, that the ENC’s worries about the selection were unfounded, given names like Faker, Zeus, and Zeka headline this Team Korea roster.
Esports at the 2026 Asian Games will run from Sep. 23 until Oct. 2. The ENC, the other international event Team Korea of Esports is set to compete at this year, takes place between Nov. 2 and Nov. 28.
