Tundra make it to a fifth consecutive BLAST Slam grand final

Tundra Esports have done it again, though they will face a different opponent in this final act.

After Team Yandex shifted the narrative at BLAST Slam tournaments by eliminating Team Falcons, who had appeared in the last two grand finals, it was MOUZ’s turn to try to end Tundra’s streak.

However, the champions of the previous three editions came well-prepared to counter MOUZ's playstyle. “We knew that they are very good at playing the lanes, so we focused on countering their early game and preventing them from running us over,” said Bozhidar "bzm" Bogdanov in the winner’s interview at BLAST.

Besides playing the laning stage close to perfection, Tundra also denied MOUZ’s cores from playing some of their strongest heroes, targeting both Remco "Crystallis" Arets and Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng with their bans. That ensured a clean first game for Tundra’s safe and mid lanes, with bzm and Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko taking the win without a single death to their name.

In game two, MOUZ felt even more disconnected and had no real answer to Tundra’s aggression. A few uncharacteristic mistakes coming from MOUZ’s side and a couple of unfavourable team fights spelt disaster for the recent PGLD Wallachia Season 6 Champions.

While MOUZ return from Chengdu, China with a 3rd/4th finish, Tundra Esports will aim tomorrow, Sunday, December 7, to claim a fourth consecutive title at BLAST Slam tournaments. The final day will start at 06:30 CET/13:30 PST with a show match between the Chinese and English talent, followed at 08:00 CET/15:00 PST by the best-of-five grand finals between Team Yandex and Tundra Esports.
