Team Yandex enters their first grand final at BLAST Slam V
Hoping to deter the champions of The International 2025, Team Yandex went up against Team Falcons in the semi-finals at BLAST Slam V.
A resurgence from Team Yandex recently has seen the team become one that is challenging some of the best in Dota 2. Having lost out to Team Falcons at FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, Yandex were hoping to get some revenge. However, with a long break, Falcons were ready for battle, looking to take down their opponents, who had Martin “Saksa” Sazdov playing his usual mercenary role as a stand-in.
Yandex cut the Falcon wings
With the first game of a best of three, Yandex were dominant. With a lineup that screamed for teamfighting, Yandex punished the slow picks from Falcons, which included a Bristleback and Dragon Knight. While Falcons had a strong early game, they did not take advantage of it, before Yandex crushed them when it mattered.
When it mattered, Yandex turned it up, with a magnificent draft and a brilliant outplay of a team that were considered favourites. The second game saw them on the back foot, but with raw physical damage, Yandex brute forced their way through the TI champions. It only took 40-minutes for Falcons to throw in the towel, taking a huge victory and making their way into their first grand finals.
With that, the first grand finalist for BLAST Slam V is set, as Yandex destroy Falcons 2-0 in an amazing underdog performance. Their opponent will be either MOUZ or Tundra, as Yandex go in search of their first tournament victory.
