PGL Wallachia Season 7 Survival Guide; Teams, stand-ins, format, schedule, prize pool

Sixteen teams will gather at the PGL Studios in Bucharest from March 7–15 to battle for their share of the $1,000,000 prize pool. As always, the tournament features a mix of established contenders, rising teams trying to cement their place among the elite, and qualifier hopefuls simply looking to prove they belong on the same stage.

The event arrives with more uncertainty than usual. Between visa issues forcing roster stand-ins and shifting momentum across the competitive scene, several teams will be entering the tournament looking slightly different than expected.

The favorites seemed clear — at least up until reacently. Teams like Team Liquid, Tundra, Falcons, and Aurora were primed to enter the event with strong recent performances and legitimate championship ambitions.

But before the first match even begins, several teams are already navigating unexpected challenges. For fans trying to keep track of it all, here’s everything you need to know before the games begin.

Stand-ins shake up the field

One of the defining storylines heading into Wallachia is the number of teams arriving with stand-in players. At least four rosters will be competing without their full starting lineups, introducing a level of unpredictability that could shape the entire event.

The most surprising change comes from Tundra where Parker will stand in for Pure. The move raises more questions than answers. Parker is undeniably talented, but his recent stint with paiN Gaming ended abruptly after just two series at DreamLeague before he was benched and later removed from the roster. His aggressive playstyle can be explosive, but concerns around discipline, communication, and team fit remain. With potential language barriers on top of that, the gamble could either unlock unexpected firepower for Tundra or create instability in one of the tournament favorites.

Aurora face a different kind of disruption. The team has been one of the most consistent performers in recent events, but they will enter Wallachia with V-Tune standing in for Nightfall. While V-Tune brings experience, he has been largely absent from top-tier competition since October and has not produced notable results recently. For a roster that had been building serious momentum, the change comes at an awkward time.

Elsewhere, Team Yandex will field DM as a stand-in for Noticed, another adjustment that could affect team cohesion.

And Falcons will compete without Malr1ne, with Lorenof stepping in to fill the role. Malr1ne has been a crucial piece of the Falcons roster, particularly in how the team controls tempo through the mid lane, making his absence one of the more significant losses in the field. Complicating matters further, there is also uncertainty surrounding ATF, whose travel from Jordan may be affected by flight restrictions and delays. If he is unable to arrive in time, Falcons could be forced into even more last-minute adjustments.

With so many teams adapting on the fly, the early stages of the tournament may hinge less on raw skill and more on which rosters can stabilize the fastest.

Storylines to watch

Despite the roster complications, Wallachia still promises plenty of compelling narratives.

Besides the teams arriving as clear title contenders, the tournament also features teams arriving through qualifiers and long-shot hopefuls hoping to make a statement on LAN.

These rosters represent another side of the competitive ecosystem, where simply reaching an event of this scale can be a significant achievement.

Add in defending champions looking to hold their ground and a field shaken by stand-ins, and the stage is set for an unpredictable tournament.
