Tundra Esports bring in Parker as a stand-in at PGL Wallachia Season 7
PGL Wallachia is turning into a tournament of stand-ins, but the most interesting we’ve now seen is David "Parker" Nicho Flores joining Tundra Esports.
Visa issues have often put a dampener on Dota 2 tournaments, with players and entire teams sometimes struggling to find their way to venues. PGL Wallachia Season 7, is shaping up in this way, with multiple players having struggles.
Earlier today, on March 4th, Tundra Esports confirmed that Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko would skip the event due to this. But the more interesting part came when they confirmed his replacement.
Tundra looks to tame Parker
On the back of their victory at DreamLeague Season 28, Tundra became one of the favourites to take another title at the upcoming PGL Wallachia Season 7. Unfortunately, with visa issues scarring the tournament, the team will now face an extra challenge, as their position 1 player, Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko sits out the event. Confirmed via their X account, the team announced early on March 4th that visa problems prevented Pure from reaching the tournament.
With that, a stand-in announcement would be coming, and when it dropped, it was probably one of the most surprising we have seen. David "Parker" Nicho Flores was confirmed as the replacement for Pure.
While the player has been part of paiN Gaming’s recent return to the forefront of Dota 2, this has already been met with issues. It only took two games before paiN dropped Parker, which follows in a pattern for the player’s professional career. Now, he looks to take his troublesome talents to Tundra, as they hope to forge a path forward at PGL Wallachia Season 7. The question that is definitely on everyone’s mind is whether Tundra will need a stand-in for their stand-in or if they can tame the mighty Parker for one tournament.
We will discover the answer soon, with the PGL Wallachia Season 7 Group Stage kicking off on March 7th. Tundra will be hoping for a smooth run, while the rest of their challengers will definitely know where to focus if they want to break through the team. It will be a tough tournament nonetheless for both Tundra and Parker.
