Get rdy: Competitive guide for July 6-12th

A new week is upon us and that means events and competitive matches will be gearing up or winding down. With this season's packed schedule it is easy to miss something, so we've compiled a weekly planning guide to keep track of what is going on.
League of Legends
MSI
The bracket stage of MSI is hotting up with two major upsets taking place over the past week that have shaken up the tournament. Firstly, T1’s gross underestimation of Bilibili Gaming sent them dropping down into the lower bracket after the Korean greats simply failed to ban one of their opponent’s best Champions, and saw themselves losing the series 3-2 to Peng “XUN” Lixun’s Kindred pick.
Then, not to be outdone by T1’s blunder, Top Esports became the first team eliminated from the tournament after an upset win by Secret Whales. The Vietnamese team became the first squad from the country to win a series against an LPL team at an international tournament, and advance to face LYON in the lower bracket.
MSI continues this week, starting with T1 battling for survival against a floundering FURIA, with the winner facing G2 Esports. Sunday will see the grand final of MSI, the victor securing their spot at Worlds 2026. It’s a frantic week of LoL action, and not one to miss, as we’ll see eight international clashes in just seven days.
MSI continues over the next two weeks, and fittingly, LoL Classic’s full reveal will come during the MSI finals on July 11.

Counter-Strike 2
We've got the playoffs of the XSE Unprofessional League starting this weekend with FaZe stealing one of the final spots after a disastrous start. They're playing BetBoom in kind of a lowkey banger, and quite definitely the best game of the quarter-finals.
In the meantime, we're waiting on BC.Game to finish their incredibly expensive roster, MOUZ to confirm jL and probably a few more wild roster moves. It's been a fun rostermania, but not much has changed at the very very top. Maybe that will change this week.
We really hope so. We want a proper game-changer move.

Dota 2
Esports World Cup 2026
The event marks the final championship of the fourth ESL Pro Tour season and serves as the last major international LAN before teams turn their full attention to The International 2026. Originally scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the tournament was relocated to Paris, France due to concerns over the "regional situation." It also marks the return of top-tier Dota to the French capital for the first time since the MDL Disneyland Paris Major in 2019, where Team Secret lifted the trophy.
While TI remains the ultimate destination, EWC offers one final opportunity for teams to build momentum, test themselves against the world's best, and make a statement before the season reaches its climax in Shanghai.
This week all eyes are on the group stage which takes place from July 7-12th.
EWC is divided into four groups with 24 teams chasing the playoffs. Only the top team of each group will secure that precious playoff spot. Second to fourth-placed teams in each group will go to Survival rounds, while the bottom two teams from each group will be eliminated.
