BLAST Slam V Survival Guide; Teams, format, schedule, prize pool

BLAST Slam V set to kick off tomorrow, November 25th with 16 teams competing for the lion's share of $1,000,000.

BLAST Slam Circuit returns tomorrow, Tuesday, November 25th, for its fifth edition, bringing 12 teams into the race for the largest cut of the $1,000,000 prize pool. The event begins online in Europe for the Group Stage, Last Chance Playoffs, and Play-In phase—an ideal setup considering several teams, including newly crowned PGL Wallachia Season 6 champions MOUZ, are still in Europe after last night’s grand finals wrapped up.

Only four teams will then fly to Chengdu, China, where the playoffs will take place at the Wuliangye Culture & Sports Center from December 5–7th.

The opening day starts slightly later than usual, with Falcons vs Yakult Brothers and Team Yandex vs Natus Vincere kicking off at 15:00 CET. Fans can expect a packed schedule: 14 series per day until November 28th, before the load slightly eases to 12 per day for the remainder of the group stage.

BLAST Slam V Hotest Contenders

With a million dollars and a BLAST title on the line, the field is stacked with teams hungry to start the new season strong—but a few squads stand out as the clear front-runners.

BetBoom already have one BLAST trophy on their shelf after winning the inaugural event in Denmark last December. But so far Tundra has gobbled up the majority (read almost all) of the championship titles, claiming Slam II in February, Slam III in May, and Slam IV earlier this month.

Meanwhile, after their blazing-hot run at PGL Wallachia Season 6, MOUZ enter BLAST Slam V as one of the most dangerous threats to Tundra’s reign.
