After a gruelling playoffs stage, BLAST Slam IV entered its final day, with a grand final between Team Falcons and Tundra Esports.

Championship Sunday was upon us at BLAST Slam IV, and it would be a replay of the BLAST Slam III grand finals between Tundra Esports and Team Falcons. Throughout 2025, these two juggernauts of Dota 2 have met, with varying results. However, at both FISSURE PLAYGROUND 1 and BLAST Slam III, Tundra were able to take down Falcons, securing the championship. While also being champions at BLAST Slam II and coming in second at the event’s first iteration, the team now look to make yet another BLAST tournament their own.

Tundra Esports give us a clutch ending to BLAST Slam IV

The confidence of Falcons was seen right from the Game 1 draft, with a Venomancer for Oliver "skiter" Lepko and the barely seen Razor for Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf. The reigning champions of The International were quick to take control of the game, never allowing Tundra even a window of opportunity.

Even with a dominant performance in Game 2 from Tundra, which resulted in a tied series, Falcons showed their brilliance again in Game 3. By 25-minutes, Falcons were on the tier 4 towers, and with only 2 kills for Tundra, they threw in the towel. With championship point, Falcons moved up to 2-1 and were now primed to take the BLAST Slam title out of Tundra’s hands.

A frantic Game 4 saw both teams wrestle control from one another throughout. With the early game going Falcon’s way, Tundra fought back to claim the mid-game period. It came down to an intense ending, with Falcons unable to close the game while Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko’s Morphling was down without buyback. As he returned, Falcons realised that they had overstayed their welcome, as Tundra punished them. Running down mid, they marched into their opponent’s base, picking them off as they attempted to make a defence.

With the series now tied at 2-2, one final game remained for these teams to fight for the title. In a surprising turn of events, both teams drafted the absolute exact same heroes as they did in Game 4. Once again, just when it seemed as though Falcons had control, a huge play from Tundra came out to turn it all in their favour.

A chaotic ending would see almost an exact replica of the previous game, as Tundra clawed their way through Falcon’s base, utilising Skiter's dropped Divine Rapier and barely securing a 3-2 victory in the grand finals of BLAST Slam IV.

With that, Tundra Esports hoist their third BLAST Slam trophy in 2025, this one coming at the event’s fourth iteration. For Falcons, even with an admirable performance, they were unable to close out the series and rip the title away from the champions.
