Nothing is ever stagnant or dull when it comes to the Dota 2 scene. Amidst the constant swirl of drama, tournaments, patches, and roster swaps, there’s always something unfolding behind the stage. From surprise upsets and standout performances to off-stage hiccups, each week brings a fresh mix of chaos and exctiment to our favorite (and often times most hated) game.

Tournaments

PGL Wallachia Season 6

PGL Wallachia Season 6 kicked off Saturday, November 15th, bringing 16 teams to Bucharest, Romania, where they are competing from the PGL Studios for the lion’s share of the $1,000,000 prize pool. The modified swiss-system group stage meant that all sixteen teams have already completed two full series, finding themselves approaching the crucial matches that will either send them packing or advance them forward into the playoffs.

So far OG has shown up big with their new SEA roster while Nigma Galaxy is at the bottom fighting for their lives.

Teams/Rosters

GamerLegion

One of the biggest roster announcements over the last week was Apex Genesis being acquired by GamerLegion. This is an interesting turn of events as it isn't too often that we see many new ogranisations taking the plunge into Dota 2. And especially not in North America which has felt neglected and abandoneded lately.

Avulus

European organisation Avulus had a busy week shuffling things around.

Their disbandment meant losing the slot at DreamLeague Season 27. The players have yet to announce any new plans or teams they might be joining up with. However, the organisation didn't waste any time and picked up a new squad, formerly known as ESPOILED.

The primarily Eastern European team has been a constant in the Tier 2 scene, competing in events such as DreamLeague Division 2, CCT, European Pro League and various qualifiers for PGL Wallachia and FISSURE Playground.

Team Cobra

Benjamin "Benjaz" Lanao and his Team Cobra are at it again. The controversial $1 million challenge from betting company 1XBET for FISSURE is back on the menu. This time, the rewards got even more wild.

Translation: "We'll take 100 peruvians to TI in a private jet if Team Cobra wins PGL Wallachia, and if Parker wins against Heroic, we will paint a HUGE mural, enough to be seen from google maps"

Benjaz is not competing with the team currently, but as of writing this, Team Cobra are sitting in 15th place with a 0:2 record at PGL Wallachia Season 6. They lost to both Xtreme Gaming and PARAVISION. To keep their hopes, and this bet, alive they will need to outmanuever Nigma Galaxy today for the series win.

Bits and Pieces

Dota 2 Gameplay

In one of the year's most unexpected gaming crossovers, Valve and Capcom have joined forces to bring the world of Monster Hunter into the Dota 2 universe. It brought a wave of new content, including themed item sets, pets, and a brand-new crafting system. The update marks the first in-game event since Crownfall concluded and introduces six Monster Hunter-themed armor sets, each with three craftable alternate versions. Among the highlights is the Rathalos Armor for Dragon Knight, effectively turning the hero into the iconic Rathalos from Monster Hunter.
