woxic: "We try to move around all the time, and take control."
Aurora emerged victorious against The Mongolz in Rotterdam, finally ending their losing streak against the Mongolian team. The Aurora CT-side completely shut off anything The MongolZ tried, and once the momentum was built, it was too late for Techno and Co to turn the tides.
We briefly spoke to woxic after Aurora’s victory, discussing their dominant CT-side, and The MongolZ curious lack of timeouts.
I wanted to ask about your CT, because in my opinion it's one of the best CT-sides in pro CS at the moment. What makes you guys so strong on that end?
It's just that we try to move around all the time, and take control.
It's also that we decided not to always be under the shadow. Because sometimes, especially on Mirage, we were kind of feeling "did they boost in window?" "did they sneak out con?" those kind of things. When we just move around left and right, we have the idea of what they are doing. I think that has helped us to make the CT-side better.
The MongolZ didn’t take a timeout all event, your game was no different. Does that almost start feeling confusing?
No, it's kind of understandable. They don't have their coach, so their in-game leader was probably able to say everything in freezetime. But sometimes when the game is rolling, I think we were winning 6-0 or 7-0 on the CT side of Mirage, I think they should take it to make us cool off a bit.
But, he decided not to.
Aurora and woxic will be facing Vitality on saturday, March the 28th at 15:00 CEST to decide who gets to play in the BLAST Open Rotterdam finals.
