Wicadia on his Nuke deagle at IEM Cologne: “Every single bullet connected”

This Turkish Aurora core have played together on and off for a decade, and now they’ve made their deepest Major run yet. That’s why we were really excited to speak to Wicadia after Aurora's win over BetBoom at IEM Cologne. Here’s what he had to say:

First of all, I have a question for you about communication at this Major. When I spoke to MAJ3R at media day, he was telling me that sometimes on stage you struggle to communicate the same way on stage as in the studio. How did that go today?

We did preps for even this, so like at first, we did some basic mistakes, but after that, we recovered so fast and good. I can say that we did good.

How much of an advantage is it to know what your weaknesses are on a stage, as opposed to BetBoom, who have never witnessed that pressure with this core?

I think if we face a team like Vitality, maybe we [would] have more pressure because of all the stage struggles. BetBoom already don't have a lot of experience on the stage except for Boombl4. So I think it helped us as well.

On Nuke, you guys had a lot of deagle rounds go your way. How important was it to hit those shots?

Today, I was just hitting with deagle and every single bullet connected. I am really happy, we won two ecos and we got the momentum. It was good.

How much easier does it make your job when XANTARES plays like that?

Even with his 50% performance, he makes it really easy for us. He's a superstar.
