Vitality blow NAVI away to win BLAST Open Rotterdam and rubber stamp their era

Team Vitality are the best team of all time, and it's getting harder and harder to find a reasonable argument against that statement.

NAVI played well enough to beat pretty much anyone else on the planet, and they failed to even take a map to overtime as ropz achieved nirvana in another grand final with 65 kills over the three maps. The guy is just ridiculous in the big games even when he's had a quiet tournament, and he topfragged all three maps in a late (too late) dash for the MVP.

That they had the top two contenders for MVP in flameZ and ZywOo and it was ropz that was the standout in the grand final is testament to the absurd depth of firepower and talent they possess. flameZ didn't even have a great series in the final, and it made no difference.

It's pointless having any kind of dissection of NAVI, who are a top tier team with no real issues, short of 'not being Vitality'. makazze had big moments, b1t was reliable throughout, but they aren't ZywOo, flameZ and grand final ropz.

makazze started Inferno on fire with four opening kills in the first six rounds, and NAVI were still 2-4 down. That became something of a theme, with NAVI actually finding more openings than Vitality, but getting multikilled constantly by ropz, or losing a clutch, with ZywOo alone winning two.

ropz ended the map with over 140 ADR and ten multikills, which is incredible in a grand final, and was far and away the best player on the server.

Anubis was won off the back of a pretty incredible half from mezii, who hasn't even had a mention thus far, but he won two back-breaking clutches and collected over 100 ADR to be the difference between a close half and a four round lead. The CT side was a bit more sketchy, but yet another clutch from mezii kept it in Vitality's favour and helped push them over the line.

Despite all that, ropz outfragged him. 19 kills, six multikills.

Dust 2 was a complete blowout up until 12-4, where NAVI threatened to pull off the most unlikely, most heroic comeback of the year, but were stopped short once Vitality got a read on their T side, and history was made.

Congratulations, Team Vitality!
