Vitality collect yet another trophy with win in Cluj-Napoca
This is definitely the best team of all time.
There were some doubts before, and maybe for some there still are, but for us there are no more. This is an era with lots of challengers who are all genuinely very good teams, and yet Vitality are breezing through to trophies as if there's nobody else entering.
PARIVISION put up a decent fight at times and making another grand final for them is a fantastic result, but they were powerless to resist a rampant Vitality who would have beaten any team, any time, 3-0.
There are very few superlatives left to describe ZywOo.
Having said that and showed you an outrageous clip, he was actually not the highest rated on his team, and in fact did less damage than three of his teammates. flameZ was the finals MVP with three excellent performances, getting stronger map to map. Inferno was the closest of the three, and it was also flameZ' best performance, dragging Vitality back into what looked like a lost game.
What makes Vitality so good is the sheer depth of their roster. mezii was their weakest member in this final, and he was frying on Dust 2 in a dominant 13-4 win. He was by no means bad, in any sense of the word - just everyone else was even better. ZywOo won three clutches, apEX went 10-1 in opening duels (!), ropz was incredibly efficient as ever and flameZ was the best player in the server.
Overpass is a Jame specialist map, and his T side calling was excellent, catching Vitality off-kilter a few times with the timing of his execution, but it was all for naught after losing on the CT side. Any time you need seven T rounds just to make OT on Overpass, you're in trouble. They picked up five, in fairness, and lost 10-13. A very respectable effort, but ropz and ZywOo were not losing this map.
Dust 2 was a complete walkover, and there's genuinely very little else to be said. Vitality raced into a massive lead and converted it with consummate ease. It looked like a group stage game.
Inferno, though, was fun.
Once again some superb calling from Jame got PARIVISION's foot in the door, but when ZywOo is pulling off spray transfer clutches when you're two rounds from map four you have to feel that it just ain't your day.
PARIVISION did win a very important post plant to force OT after a big comeback from Vitality in regulation, but it was always going to be an uphill struggle from there.
Sidenote, there were 8 1vXs in this map. Wild.
Vitality won it 3-0, probably as we all expected, and will likely go on to win a whole bunch more.
Who can stop them?
