Spirit overpower Falcons in three to lift PGL Astana trophy
Sorry karrigan, but getting donk'd happens to the best of us.
Falcons had the karrigan magic throughout this tournament but magic can't beat destiny, and donk sometimes feels pre-destined to win these events. It is a joyous thought that we might have the best version of donk in Cologne against the best team of all time. We're giddy at the thought.
He led Spirit to victory in three great maps of Counter-Strike over Falcons, who put up one hell of a fight for such a new roster, but couldn't topple a giant.
Dust 2 was the closest map of the three, going to overtime, but Spirit went perfect in OT to seal the deal on what has been a dominant pick for them. Falcons had chances on this map - they not only had more opening kills, but lost two clutches that obviously ended up being extremely important, to donk and zont1x respectively.

It was the much-maligned tN1R who stepped up to the plate on Mirage - and indeed throughout, but most notably on Mirage - and delivered Spirit to glory.
His 21 kills in 20 rounds, including two clutches, were the driving force behind this map being pretty one-sided in Spirit's favour despite it being, in theory, Falcons' most favoured map.
When donk and tN1R are firing at the same time, Spirit are nigh-on unstoppable, no matter how much magic you have, no matter how good your Russian children are at the game, and no matter what you call.
And onto Ancient, which was donk's final lap of honour after a, quite frankly, absurd tournament.
He finished on 26 kills in an otherwise very close win - 13-10 - that definitely would have been a Falcons win were it not for his dominance. Spirit collected nine on the T side as donk went 17-5 with four opening kills, five multikills and nearly 125 ADR, which should be enough for a win anyway.
Despite that, his team was falling apart a bit on the CT side, but it was once again donk who found the opening kills and crucial lockdowns to drag Spirit over the line and bring them another trophy.
An absolutely incredible player - and back in peak form just before the Major.
