Spirit best FURIA to join 9z in 3-0 glory

Spirit and 9z 3-0, just as we all predicted.

Spirit made a lot of sense, especially when you have donk in this form. He's been absolutely ridiculous over the seven maps played, with over a kill per round, over 100 ADR and a multikill more than once every four rounds. We're not sure it's physically possible to lose games when he's playing like this.

molodoy, thankfully, has also been terrific, which made Spirit vs FURIA a beautiful watch. He and donk went blow-for-blow in this one, but donk was the bigger, badder wolf. He dropped 23, 25 and then 23 again as Spirit got the better of two out of three close maps.

luchov on 9z has been similarly demonic at this event, and his hot run of form continued as he powered 9z to another eye-catching win over MOUZ.

PARIVISION, Falcons and MOUZ is as legit a run as one can have to playoffs, and 9z have leapt over every hurdle so far. This series even included MOUZ spanking them on Inferno, which felt like the moment one goes 'alright, now the fun is over', but they bounced back with an impressive Ancient CT side to come back from a deficit.

dgt had two kills on Inferno, but he and max, the old duo, were instrumental in getting 9z over the line.

910 dragged The MongolZ over the line on Inferno to complete a 2-0 over G2.

Dust 2 was a complete blowout as The MongolZ collected 10 on their defence, with cobrazera's clutch the nail in the coffin for G2's T side, but Inferno went all the way to OT. The MongolZ held their nerve to post four in a row in second OT, and had 910 to thank for a stellar performancer from round 1 to round 34. G2 looked to have won it when they took seven consecutive rounds in regulation to go 11-9 up off of a second round force, but The MongolZ stood tall and eventually won out.

PARIVISION were less stoic in their overtime against Aurora, as they slipped to a 14-16 loss on map two and fall to the 1-2 bracket.

soulfly has been a revelation on this team, and XANTARES has continued to be one of the best players in the world, and it's that sort of firepower that you need against PARIVISION's solid teamplay and underwhelming shooting. The Russians will feel they could and should have done more - hence this reaction from dastan.

Falcons survived a scare to take down Monte in two very close maps, while Gentle Mates overpowered HEROIC in the tier 2 gauntlet. mopoz and MartinezSa combined for 66 kills over two maps as HEROIC had four players miss out on 20 kills. Eesh.

Quietly exiting the competition is Fisher College, but at least CrePoW managed 28 kills today. Respect. They were swiftly dealt with by The Huns, whereas magic were a lot slower in eliminating K27, but did come up with something special.
