PARIVISION complete the dream run and win BLAST Bounty

We can't believe we're writing this, but PARIVISION 3-0'd Falcons to take home their first trophy - and for some of the players, it's by far the biggest moment of their careers.

Their performance at the Major was impressive and encouraging, but nobody expected them to take the first big LAN trophy of the year, especially in such convincing fashion. They beat Spirit, FURIA and Falcons - this was as legit as a run can get.

For Jame, this must be incredibly validating. To be removed from Virtus.pro after what he'd done for them, see them relegated to an also-ran, and then come back with a bunch of unfancied young players and surpass them at the Major and then win a tournament is equal parts hilarious and cathartic. His style of play has never been the prettiest, but when his teams are on form they're near-unstoppable, because he chases perfection.

It wasn't just him, though. xiELO has turned into a consistent thorn in the side of any T side, nota transformed into prime NiKo in the grand final and zweih and BELCHONOKK are as solid as rocks. Jame has to get some credit for getting these guys to play, but plenty of it has to go to the individuals too.

There were no blowout maps in this grand final, just three close, grindy wins for PARIVISION, which is sort of just how they like it.

Map one, Mirage, was the biggest margin of victory with a whopping four rounds, with nota and xiELO combining for 43 kills, and yet with three kills difference, nota had a 1.80 rating and xiELO a 0.97. In fairness, the stand-out moment was a sensational ace from nota, turning a 4v5 into a 3v2, and then converting it all himself as well. That alone, to put PARIVISION on 11, was worth a high rating.

PARIVISION led 8-4 at the half on the first two maps, with their CT side holding strong on Mirage but their T side looking stronger on Dust 2, predictably. They consistently hit NucleonZ and kyxsan's positions, exploiting the rookie and the IGL's weakness in what is probably the oldest trick in the book. Just attack the weak players. They just about closed out after letting Falcons get back to 9-9, with two important retakes in the final four rounds.

Falcons had gotten the better of PARIVISION in opening duels on both of the first two maps, but the spacing and timing of PARIVISION made their trading as good as any team in the world. When a stat popped up on screen about their elite trading on Inferno, we nodded along and thought 'yeah, that makes sense'.

And yet, this was the map in which Jame's boys managed to win the early round more often, but Falcons kept clawing their way back in. m0NESY's name hasn't even been uttered once so far in this article, and that's partially because he was a bit of a non-factor. Jame kept hitting the other side of the map, and he struggled to get involved again. It was NiKo and nota going blow-for-blow in this one, with both posting excellent scorelines, but xiELO won the only clutch of the map in a game that finished 13-11.

That's the stuff that wins you games.

PVISION raced into a 5-0 lead, and that was just enough of a buffer for when NiKo woke up and decided to raise hell. Despite his best efforts (and controversial MVP award), NiKo couldn't stop the tide coming in, and PARIVISION won their first S tier trophy.
