NiKo wins the battle of the Kovačs - Day four stage three Budapest Major
m0NESY put up one another classic performance to push Falcons past G2 in dramatic fashion, with some of the most ridiculous clips you've ever seen.
His double noscope through smoke on round 12 on Inferno was good, but what about the full blind flick followed by jumping noscope with the game in flux on Dust 2? We can give you the stats, the ratings, the scorelines - it doesn't matter, this was about big moments from Falcons' stars.
G2 looked like they could get it done on Dust 2 before m0NESY decided he was tired of losing, and just straight up obliterated G2's offence time and time again.
kyousuke was exceptional too; for a guy who is famously bad at Inferno, he stood tall with some huge multikill rounds, and was exceptional on Dust 2
We all know the power of playoffs FaZe, and we're going to get to see it as they came back from the brink twice to deny Passion UA and break their hearts.
PUA were up 10-7 before losing six of the next seven rounds on Overpass - on the CT side, no less - to choke away a great opportunity to put FaZe on the backfoot. We all know that once you spurn a chance to drive a stake through FaZe's heart, you'll regret it sooner than you could ever imagine.
JT's team got to 11 first on Mirage and couldn't close it out either, with FaZe pulling off two comebacks with their backs against the wall.
They might be back.
jcobbb has had his critics, and not unfairly, but he has stepped up massively since the first stage and was the highest rated player in the series. If FaZe are to do anything in the playoffs, they'll need that version of jcobbb to show up on stage.
w0nderful continued his much improved form of late as he powered NAVI to a convincing 2-0 win over B8.
makazze has bedded in to his role on this team too, and while he doesn't look like jL did on this team, NAVI finally have a working five man roster with all the pieces fitting together nicely, and they could be a bit of a dark horse in the playoffs.
B8 have done admirably, but this was a step too far as NAVI were simply too good for them on the day. npl is a pretty solid player and at tier two a star, but he isn't good enough to be a star at the top top level.
The playoffs begin on Thursday with Team Spirit vs Team Falcons and FURIA vs NAVI, which are both absolutely glorious games to get to watch. It doesn't get much worse on Friday, with MOUZ vs FaZe and Team Vitality vs The MongolZ.
This weekend will be incredible.
