NiKo pulls off crazy highlight to sink G2 - BLAST Open Porto

NiKo got the better of his cousin huNter- in a predictably highlight-filled series.

NiKo pulled off one of the rounds of the year as he tore down four as the last line of defence on the A site of Inferno, but huNter put up two huge rounds at the back-end of Dust 2 to make this game look even remotely close.

His 1v2 bailed out G2 with Falcons on series point, and he'd also picked up an ace clutch in round 14 that meant Dust 2 was more than just a complete stomp. Falcons were quite clearly the better team today, with huNter- the only holdout to stop this being a romp.

m0NESY was everywhere and had r1nkle's number, despite the latter having the occasional glimpse of brilliance he could not come close to m0NESY. NiKo and kyousuke were sensational, too, and the obvious lack of serious star power from G2 has never been so apparent. Even their superstar anchor, HeavyGod, was probably outdone by TeSeS, who was in remarkably sharp form. He seemed to have laser-guided aim from pit.

NiKo on Inferno was untouchable - that 4k aside, he was far and away the best player on the server. kyousuke had banana on lockdown as he managed to find openings time and time again, but it was NiKo who closed rounds down and was the mid-round swing factor so many times.

Dust 2 was where m0NESY came to life, and he seemed to find the key kill in every round, stopping G2 from pulling off an unlikely comeback from 3-9 down.

All in all, it was a simple day for Falcons, whose only speedbump was a quite incredible showing from huNter- on Dust 2. They will face Spirit in the semis - a must-watch game.

Vitality cruised to victory on Dust 2 to complete a reverse sweep after getting destroyed on Nuke.

As FalleN pushed through a smoke to find two and put FURIA in a commanding lead, it seemed like the stand-in situation might prove too much and Vitality had found their peak at this event, but they did as champions do and found a way out of the hole.

FURIA did go on to win Nuke quite handily, but found a much more resilient Vitality on Cache, with ZywOo waking up in time to stop Vitality going out in the quarter-finals. With ZywOo online, anything is possible, and though Vitality wobbled from an 8-4 start to find themselves even, they held their nerve to take Cache in round 24. A quick shout-out to the stand-in jL, too, whose clutch proved invaluable in a 13-11.

Dust 2 was much smoother sailing - after another 8-4 start, this time Vitality did not falter in the pistol or conversion and went flawless on their CT half to see FURIA off and rise to meet MOUZ in the semi-finals.
