The MongolZ topple FURIA to reach semi-finals - PGL Cluj-Napoca
The MongolZ pulled off a stunning victory over FURIA to cap off a fantastic start to life with cobrazera.
The new kid on the block has been, somehow, just as good as Senzu (?) and was a driving force behind another massive win for the best team ever to come out of Asia. We're not sure how they keep losing players and not falling off and sometimes even improving, but they're just got the special sauce, it seems.
Maybe 'Senzu' was just a position after all.
The MongolZ even bottled a 9-2 lead on map two to let this one get to a Nuke decider, before triumphantly marching through FURIA's defence on said decider for another nine round half, this time converting.
That's following an absolute spanking dealt out on Mirage to the collective derrieres (or Portuguese language alternative) of FURIA, with cobrazera and 910 combining for a 33-13 scoreline in 16 rounds. Yes, FURIA didn't kill both of them combined once a round on average.
molodoy has been lights out at this event, but today he finally came up against a better AWPer in 910.
Fair play MongolZ. We're invested.

Falcons seem to be allergic to winning man advantages.
They lost a seemingly unloseable 3v1 to choke away Dust 2 and lose in overtime, which eventually cost them a crucial series and saw them out in the quarter-finals in Cluj-Napoca.
None of the three players were blameless, but m0NESY especially should not be peeking and leaving TeSeS stranded with an AWP. Falcons have made a habit of losing these rounds, and it's going to gatekeep them from being truly elite. A team like PARIVISION, especially, will destroy you when you make mistakes like that.
PARIVISION are a team who live to punish mistakes and defects in your defaults, and they have just enough firepower to turn those mistakes into 13 rounds, unlike some of the other teams who try to do the same thing.
Falcons could have had a 2-0 - they smashed PARIVISION on Mirage - but instead limped out on a sub-par Ancient and watched PARIVISION - this year's surprise package - move on to the semi-finals.
MOUZ recovered from a collapse in map one to batter NAVI in back-to-back maps and claim a semi-finals spot.
NAVI came back from 8-4 down on map one thanks to a rock-solid CT side, but unfortunately for them the rest of the game followed the pattern of the first half.
Despite a classy AWP ace from w0nderful, repeeking into middle multiple times to pick off MOUZ one-by-one, NAVI collected just four rounds on Inferno, and only two more on Mirage. For a team criticised often (even by us) for their lack of, for want of a better word, huevos on stage, they didn't half show up when they needed to.
Fair play.
It was a complete team performance too, and MOUZ will move on to the semis and have a shot at winning the trophy.

As expected, Vitality moved past Aurora without a hitch - though Aurora were more in the game than perhaps expected.
It was a bit of an off day from mezii and ropz, but ZywOo is just inevitable right now. He was once again impossibly efficient, barely wasting a keystroke, as he racked up a whole host of kills and once again began the unstoppable march towards the final - probably.
We were more impressed by Aurora than we thought we'd be, and this was an encouraging performance from them in a playoff game for the first time in a while. soulfly looks like an upgrade on jottAAA, which we didn't expect, especially in the bigger games where he seems to step up a level.
