IEM returns to Brazil in 2027

ESL has announced that IEM will be returning to Brazil next year.
The host city is unannounced, but that’s about the only thing we don’t know. What we do know is that it will be held from May 3-9, 2027, and feature 16 teams. The prize pool is also the usual $1,000,000 that we have come to expect.
The group/playoff stage format is already known.
There will be a double-elimination format, with two groups of eight. The top four in both advance to the playoffs. All quarter-finals are on Friday, with a third-place decider before the final on Sunday.
This event is part of what ESL claims is $11,450,000 being allocated for teams and players across 2027. How our game has grown.
This all sounds great; let’s just hope a Brazilian team makes the playoffs so we can get the best vibes their country has to offer. Bora!
