Get rdy: Competitive guide for July 20-26th

A new week is upon us and that means events and competitive matches will be gearing up or winding down. With this season's packed schedule it is easy to miss something, so we've compiled a weekly planning guide to keep track of what is going on.

League of Legends

EWC

The EWC 26 ended with some remarkable results, with Karmine Corp having a dramatic run to the finals and the financially suffering DPlus lifting the trophy.

This event was full of upsets, and is already causing teams like G2 and T1 to rethink things. However, the compressed season, the short breaks in between competition, and lower profile of the event could be to blame, rather than the teams themselves.

Regional leagues

Most teams will have at least a week or five days to recover after EWC. For the LPL, however, it’s back to work in just two days when Split 3 of the season begins.

If you’re a Chinese team, there’s no rest for the wicked. And for all the other teams it’s time to start the grind towards the biggest trophy of the year: Worlds 2026.

Counter-Strike 2

Finally, after years and years away (or so it felt like), tier one Counter-Strike is back - with an asterisk.

32 of the best teams in the world are playing BLAST Bounty this week, with just one issue; until the top eight, the whole thing is online. Blegh. It's a slow introduction back to the world of the best esport in the world, and maybe it's best we don't get a full dose straight away, but c'mon. We just really want to see some LAN Counter-Strike. Still, we've got banging games like 100 Thieves vs Falcons to enjoy, and with the added chaos that online games bring, we're not ruling out any crazy results. Maybe OG can beat Spirit.

Alright, we won't go that far.

Dota 2

Esports World Cup 2026 came to a thrilling conclusion with PVISION defeating BB Team in the grand final to lift the trophy.

With that, the biggest events of the 2025-26 Dota Pro Circuit season are now behind us, leaving just one tournament on the horizon: The International 2026.

TI doesn't begin until August 13, but that doesn't mean the Dota calendar is going quiet. While the big teams take the opportunity to prepare for the biggest event of the year, there are still several tournaments and competitions to help fill the gap until the Aegis is back on the line.

Regional Affairs

Local and regional fans have some treats on the menu this week.

Europe

EPL Masters I: Play-In begins today, July 20th. There are 12 European teams competing for one of the four spots to the main event. IC x Insanity, Level UP, Nemiga Gaming among others will be competing. The main tournament takes place starting July 26th, boasts a $100,000 prize pool and will feature MOUZ, GLYPH, Rune Eaters, Power Rangers and Team Bald.

Southeast Asia

Lunar Horse Trophy 8 began on Sunday, July 19th and will continue through the August 6th. It features eight regional teams competing online for $15,000.
