Get rdy: Competitive guide for March 5-11th

The weekend is almost here and that usually means events and competitive matches are in full swing. With this season's packed schedule it is easy to miss something, so we've compiled a weekly planning guide to keep track of what is going on.

Counter-Strike 2

ESL Pro League Season 23: Online Stage began on Sunday, March 1st with 24 teams competing online for one of the eight spots for the LAN finals that will take place in Stockholm March 13-15th.

For Stage 1, 16 teams will compete in a Swiss System Format through March 5th. All matches are Bo3 and the top 8 teams proceed to Stage 2 which will take place from March 6-10th.

Team Liquid have been given a get out of jail free card as they play a 3DMAX who couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo, and thus can paper over the many cracks that have formed at ESL Pro League S23. Provided they actually take it, of course.

G2 vs NIP today, March 5th at 16:00 CET looks like a hilarious watch between two teams allergic to closing games out, with G2 bottling a shot against paiN last night and NIP looking wobblier than Mr Tickle's arms. Should be a morbidly joyous watch.

Dota 2

PGL Wallachia Season 7

PGL Wallachia Season 7 brings together a diverse field of contenders, challengers, and hopefuls. Sixteen teams will compete on LAN at the PGL Studios in Bucharest, Romania, from March 7–15, battling for their share of the $1,000,000 prize pool.

While a few favorites have been identified so far —the usual suspects of course— we have our eye on some teams that represent more than just being the underdogs.

In addition, at least four teams so far have revealed they will be competing with stand-in players due to visa issues and there are still some questions about other teams/players being able to make it due to flight restrictions and cancellations. Be sure to keep an eye out for more news on those before placing any bets —this event is shaping up to be more of a crap shoot at this point.

Regional Affairs

Local and regional fans have some treats on the menu this week.

Eastern Europe

Not much is known about the Esports League Super Cup Pro Division scheduled to take place between March 1st-15th, but it seems to be an online and then offline event in Moscow. There will be eight teams —six invited and two from qualifiers — competing. No teams have been announced yet. The prize pool is roughly $20,000.

Southeast Asia

EPL World Series: Southeast Asia Season 13 began on March 4th and will continue through the 26th. Eight local teams have been competing for the $10,000 prize. Yangon Galacticos won last season which just wrapped up and most of the team list is the same from then too.

A new season of Lunar Snake Trophy 6 started on February 7th. Ten teams are competing for $15,000. Carstensz Esports is busy trying to find their footing. Contrary to EPL, here they led not just their group, but overall in the event with a 3:1 series (7:3 games) record. They dropped to the lower brackets early on but have continued to fight their way through and have landed in the grand finals. The action is expected to wrap up today, March 5th.

South America

CCT Season 2: South America Series 3 sees 12 invited teams battle it out for the largest slice of the $20,000 prize pool. The event will take place through the 8th of March. Amaru Gaming, Infamous Gaming, and x5 Gaming, featuring some of Brazil's top talent and names, have been on hand.
