FUT fail to make playoffs as BetBoom keep flying
FUT fell to B8 in the lower bracket 2-0 to exit Atlanta in what seemed like an event they had a real shot at doing something in.
B8 won eight in a row on the CT side of Ancient, with npl becoming an absolute brick wall. In fairness, he was excellent on Overpass too - as was s1zz1, who went 11-2 on the CT side of Ancient and won Overpass for B8 with two massive clutches down the stretch.
s1zz1 hasn't been an outstanding addition to B8, but today he was superb and quite comfortably the better AWPer. Those two clutches ruined FUT's comeback on Overpass just as they were set to cruise into a third map with a dominant CT side.
For FUT, this is an incredibly disappointing result; but also a reminder that these guys are still so young, and it won't always be plain sailing.

Vitality beat out FaZe in OT on Nuke before smashing them on Dust 2, which continues to be a pillar of strength for them.
It's undeniable that FaZe are a better team with Neityu in, but maybe not by enough. frozen and Twistzz looked like players still capable of being on a world class team on Nuke, but broky let them down, and while Neityu was poor on map one he was superb on Dust 2 despite the loss.
It's just jcobbb went 3-14.
Vitality went on to smack B8 around, predictably. They were never really going to miss out on playoffs.

BetBoom went straight to the semi-finals with an 11-round T side on Anubis in the deciding map.
FL4MUS is only a stand-in, but BetBoom have stumbled into probably their best roster and should probably roll with it for a bit. The stand-in was superb all series long and a massive part of why they've peaked so hard here in Atlanta.
We don't know what's happened to vsm here in Atlanta, but we don't like it. He was exceptionally poor.
Speaking of terrible, Team Liquid went out to GamerLegion with a whimper. None of them played well.
Legacy pulled off an almighty upset to move into the semi-finals too, as they seem to be having one of 'those' tournaments that they're capable of having. Beating NAVI is a serious 'take notice' result, but they've had these false dawns before.
latto is having an absolutely sensational tournament, and he was the lynchpin in this result too.
Astralis held strong to deny SINNERS and move up to face GamerLegion, but GamerLegion dispatched them with aplomb to ascend to the top six. Fair play, they've surprised everyone.
