FURIA outlast Nemiga to win PGL Masters Bucharest 2026

FURIA won a very strange PGL Masters Bucharest final over Nemiga in five.

FURIA won PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 after an incredibly unpredictable grand final.

Nemiga being in the grand final made it such a wildcard anyway, but they made for one half of one of the most unusually pulsating games of CS of the year, in some ways.

It all started so well for them, as they absolutely slaughtered FURIA on Ancient.

An outstanding performance from KaiR0N-; an all too seldom an event; put Nemiga one up as he scythed through the paper-thin FURIA defence, held together occasionally by YEKINDAR and basically nobody else.

KaiR0N- found a bunch of multikills, and seemed to have molodoy's number, shutting down the AWPer completely and starting his grand final off in all the wrong ways. He started the game off with a triple in the pistol to turn a 4v5 into a 4v2, and he didn't slow down from there.

Poor molodoy had just two kills in the 15 rounds it took Nemiga to win Ancient. Things were looking weird for FURIA.

Fortunately for them, they hit back with a 10 round T side on Dust 2, mirroring Nemiga's start to Ancient. khaN was Nemiga's YEKINDAR, in that he had an extraordinary map in a horrendous loss - but YEKINDAR went one better. He found three kills including an opener to break the Nemiga balance after the pistol, and they never really recovered, having some dodgy buys from there on out.

YEKINDAR then went on to win two separate 1v2s, both times after khaN had gotten Nemiga into a round with a double kill. Poor guy couldn't catch a break.

Nemiga had a mini fightback, but two big rounds from KSCERATO shut down any hope of a comeback real quick.

It was yet another blow out map - another 13-2 - as FURIA slaughtered Nemiga on Cache. It was FalleN's turn to put on a show, with two triples making up six of his 17 kills. YEKINDAR again was instrumental, getting opening picks consistently and just outputting an incredible amount of damage.

khaN and KaiR0N-, the two best players on map one and two, mustered just 12 kills combined. Only molodoy had fewer than 12 kills for FURIA.

It felt like Nemiga were out of gas, but miraculously they found a second wind. KaiR0N- and khaN dropped 27 CT side kills and 200+ ADR combined as they went up 9-3, and then won the pistol to put themselves within touching distance of a fifth map. There was a twist, though.

FURIA broke back with yuurih finding a double kill to start the round, and FURIA were rolling. They won seven rounds in a row - the best of which a YEKINDAR quad, as he continued to be the best player in the server. FURIA were even, but robo found back-to-back twos of his own to get Nemiga to 12, before YEKI found yet another 2k to push us to round 24.

This was a brawl.

khaN and Xant3r found all give in a 4v5 in the final round to push us to a deciding map, and given how the first four had gone, we had no idea what to expect.

FURIA had bought enough time for molodoy to wake up, unfortunately for Nemiga.

They themselves found a lost star in syph0, who had been notably absent, but he isn't able to overpower an in-form molodoy. Nobody is, though khaN did pull off an unlikely 1v3 after a molodoy triple to break an early FURIA round-streak.

molodoy at his best is one of the most enjoyable players to watch, and he found multikills over and over, including with the rifle. He won a key 1v1 to deny KaiR0N- a back-breaking 1v2 that would have put Nemiga in charge of the economy late on, and Nemiga couldn't recover. That would have been 7-9 had KaiR0N- won it, but instead it went to 6-10 with FURIA in a better economical position.

It was something of an anti-climactic finish, but in many ways, that was fitting for such a strange final.

FURIA, after a tumultuous season, have found a bit of form at just the right time. They couldn't, could they?
