FaZe top off nightmare Easter period with 0-3 exit in Bucharest

We can't think of anyone who's ever suffered as much over Easter as FaZe Clan. Well, alright, maybe ONE guy, but at least he'd come back to life by now.

FaZe Clan missed out on qualification to the Major on Sunday, and were out of Bucharest on the first plane home a day later, capping off an utterly miserable few months for karrigan and his not-so-merry men. Qualification to the Major was, despite their horrendous year, well within their grasp should they get the better of a BIG team who had already qualified, but even this one small step for man was too big for FaZe.

FaZe flew out to Belgrade for HLC Belgrade PRO and needed a win at the event to secure an unlikely spot in Cologne, and won every game up until the final, albeit against a pretty weak field. You can draw your own conclusions about the VRS system from that.

BIG's final appearance was enough to grant them a Major berth, and as such were only playing for the trophy and for glory, but still fought back from 0-1 down in the series to break FaZe's hearts and take home some silverware, however modest. gr1ks had a magnificent series with two monster maps on BIG's winning pair, perhaps driving home the point that FaZe need a better AWPer, and gr1ks had been available not too long ago.

jcobbb struggled again, though to give him a bit of leeway, he does have a horrible set of roles on this team, as pointed out by our very own Sam Carder.

He does die a lot, but a lot of it is sort of by design and he's used as a bit of a sacrificial lamb to get frozen and Twistzz into better positions. He's an issue, because he's not great, but at least he isn't using resources, mentioning no names (broky).

Still, we'll always have Dust 2, and the faintest hope that FaZe's plot armour was being donned one final time.

Not long after, having forfeited two games in Bucharest just to not qualify for the Major, FaZe flew back to the ongoing tournament to face Inner Circle to follow a terrible weekend with an even worse Monday - something I think we're all familiar with.

They were back-to-back 13-9'd by Inner Circle to go 0-3 in Bucharest, with poor jcobbb going 17-34, and even frozen having a stinker, and leave karrigan contemplating how things fell apart so quickly.

Still, at least there's a silver lining...
