A teary-eyed FalleN today announced his retirement from Counter-Strike after an illustrious 21 year career.
The AWPing-IGL-turned-just-IGL has had one of the most impressive, resilient careers around and has more awards and trophies than most can ever dream of - as well as the adoration of an entire nation, with whom he shared a tear on stage.

FalleN is a two-time Major winner and a one-time HLTV #2 player, but to Brazilians his achievements pale in comparison to his impact on Counter-Strike. He built the Brazilian CSGO scene from scratch, and every single kid in that country who picks up the game wants to either be, or play with, FalleN. A lot of them only picked it up because of him, in truth.
His most recent switch to FURIA and away from the role that he made his name doing has only strengthened his case for being one of the greatest ever IGLs, as he in what was supposed to be his twilight years has reinvented himself as a rifler and won trophies doing so.
He is undoubtedly one of the most iconic players to ever touch the game, and his retirement will leave a gaping chasm not just in the Brazilian scene, but left of centre in the chests of every Brazilian fan and player.
Enjoy your retirement, professor.
