TeSeS winner’s interview: “It's the most legit run you will ever see”

This isn’t just unique because the run was hard; it’s not even unique because it’s Cologne and the Major. What makes this unique is the storylines up and down this Falcons roster. Between NiKo’s first Major, karrigan’s GOAT case, m0NESY’s MVP, and kyousuke’s ascension. It’s easy to forget that TeSeS got redemption for Rio today.
The Danish utility man might be easily forgotten among the stars on his team, but he was just as important, if not more so at times. His ability to rise in big moments this playoffs saw them over the line.
That’s why we were happy to speak with him after the final to get his perspective on this incredible run. Here’s what he had to say:
Now, TeSeS, when we play Faceit at home, all of us dream of winning a Cologne, and all of us dream of winning a Major. You just won both at the same time. How does it feel, man?
laughs How does that make sense? I don't know.
It's insane. I've been dreaming of this, wanting this for so long. Now I stand with it, like it's amazing.
How much better is it that you beat every single good team on this run as well?
It makes it legit; it makes it the best thing ever. In my head, the perfect storyline. I am so happy for the guys I am playing with.
karrigans comeback, NiKo's first one. It's the most legit run you will ever see. So it's crazy.
You've had a Major final in your past, and a few of your teammates have had some Major finals in their past. But you also have a rookie on your team, and m0NESY who hasn't had quite this level of experience in Majors. Did any of you give some words of advice last night when you came back into the hotel?
Uh, yeah, we talked about it.
What we needed to do, and what we needed to bring, and I think m0NESY was feeling quite under the weather before the game, he had some stomach issues and so on. I think he almost admitted it was because of nerves or excitement. But once it first got started, it all went away, and you saw him shine today. He took MVP, so this guy can perform more than anything.
So really happy for him.
zonic talked to us yesterday and said that his goal for this game was to see you guys be true to yourself. Is that what was the difference between you and FURIA today? That you were true to yourself in a way that maybe they weren't?
I don't know, they can speak to that for themselves.
From my perspective, they started slow, and we kind of grabbed the opportunity to keep rolling. We wanted to take charge of the game and play with the momentum, and we managed to do that a lot of the time.
Just happy with how everyone showed up today.
My final question for you, and be honest: Does karrigan practice the USP in private? because he keeps getting away with it.
I don't know what he's doing on deathmatch! Like if he's just playing against AKs with just USP or whatever he's doing. But these two highlights he has with it now is crazy. I haven't seen the last one, but it must have been insane.
I can tell you it was crazy. Congratulations again, man.
Thank you!
