Falcons nudge past The MongolZ into playoffs

kyousuke and m0NESY dovetailed for nearly 130 kills to sink The MongolZ and push Falcons into the playoffs.

The duo topped the scoreboard on all three maps in a modern day classic that saw The MongolZ equalise the score on Inferno in 24 rounds, but fall in OT on Mirage to a world class performance from the Russian kids, where both averaged over a kill per round.

If this is the type of gaming we're going to get under karrigan, we're all in. This is a tournament winning Falcons. Dare we say it, this is a Vitality-slaying Falcons.

The MongolZ are so often a big part of great games, but they are too often the bridesmaid and not the bride. They're an excellent team, but Falcons in this form are near-unstoppable for anyone who isn't an elite team.

They're always fun to watch, though.

G2 eliminated PARIVISION in overtime - and beating Jame in overtime is about as encouraging as it can get for a team.

So often Jame outlasts teams in long, long games, and when they won map two on round 24 and took G2 to OT on Ancient from 8-11 down, we had to say we feared the worst for G2. For once, instead they held their nerve and stayed alive - and had huNter- to thank for leading from the front as his stars struggled.

He and SunPayus both dropped 26 kills each in the deciding map to send PARIVISION home, and make dastan even angrier than he was yesterday. Probably.

PARIVISION have gone downhill since the start of the year when they came out swinging, but we're not ready to rule them out yet. Their stars haven't been firing of late, but Jame always has some tricks up his sleeve, and the animal is more dangerous when wounded.

MOUZ came out on top in two banger maps to go smoothly into playoffs over Aurora.

woxic had a bit of an off-day against his old team and torzsi made him pay, with xertioN continuing his string of excellent performances which was just enough to tip MOUZ over the edge. Aurora will have another chance tomorrow, but it'll be against The MongolZ.

Sounds like a banger.

molodoy also kept up his remarkable form to power a lacklustre FURIA past a plucky Gentle Mates in three maps, HEROIC slipped to a defeat (and elimination) to magic and Monte squeaked past The Huns after stomping them in map one.

Gentle Mates face magic, Monte have the chance to topple G2 and The MongolZ, as mentioned, take on Aurora tomorrow.
