BETBOOM's run continues as NAVI outlast PARIVISION - IEM Beijing

w0nderful and b1t powered NAVI to a hard-fought win over a tricky PARIVISION side, who looked like they were in complete control half way through.
PARIVISION took map one despite a massive choke; from 11-3 up, PARIVISION needed a Jame 1v2 to even get to overtime, as he played the jungle post-plant to perfection. Fortunately someone did; they lost several advantageous post-plants, one thanks to a teamkill from FL1T and another where Aleksi took all three in a 2v3 retake.
Jame was superb in the first half, picking off NAVI players all over the map, but after the switch w0nderful and b1t held the fort down. PARIVISION seemed determined to break the A site over and over again, leaving b1t to hold back the tide which he did with aplomb over and over.
But in overtime, it was zweih who stood up tall to deny NAVI anything on their T side, and brought home a win for PARIVISION - who shot up 7-2 on Inferno.
They kept NAVI guessing, leaving banana completely open and letting NAVI dump utility, instead taking it late and executing on B. Once NAVI caught on, though, they ran away with it. w0nderful was once again on fire, doing a bit of everything. He had eight flash assists, an 18-7 scoreline and a whole host of multikills. makazze came up big on this map too, having been notably absent on Mirage.
Ancient was probably NAVI's most convincing win, as b1t and w0nderful once more dovetailed to bring down PARIVISION.
Both had massive turning point rounds; three kills in a 3v4 from b1t helped kill off any PARIVISION hope late on, while w0nderful's double in a 3v4 closed the game in round 23. They were both consistently a thorn in the side of PARIVISION, but those rounds were the ones that sealed their fate.
We need to have a conversation about w0nderful, who has always been a top AWPer but seems to have gone back to his peak level and right now is possibly in the form of his life. He's one of the most electric players in the world to watch right now, and just in time for the Major. He's in seriously good nick.
BETBOOM took down FURIA in overtime to seal a marquee stage win for one of the hottest form teams in the world.
BB have been a threat for quite a while now, but in the last month or so have found their groove and are now a team nobody wants to play against. It helps that zorte seems to have transformed from an average AWPer into an elite one overnight, and one might argue that that is unsustainable, but we should enjoy the ride while it's going. He's cooking, and he's so fun to watch.
He cut FURIA to ribbons on map one, just pumping out damage and stamping his authority on the map. He won a 1v2 at 4-4 to turn the tide, with FURIA only winning one more round after that on Ancient. He had a clean triple kill to put BB on 12 late on, and generally was by far the best player on the map - though d1Ledez played his part too.
Dust 2 was a map for the IGLs, as Boombl4 had one of those games, but it wasn't enough to win, with FalleN pulling off a classic USP ace in the second pistol round. He and YEKINDAR won a 2v4 straight after a 3v3 where both were involved, too, with FURIA just outclassing BETBOOM in those late round situations, and managing to steal away Dust 2.
It was then molodoy's turn, having been given some time to warm up, and he went ham on Nuke. He dropped a classic 30 bomb in 30 rounds, and yet still somehow wasn't able to drag his team over the line. He got all three in a 2v3 twice in the same map - in regulation - and it wasn't enough. He cannot do much more than that.
He didn't even wilt in overtime, dropping a triple in the first round and a double in the final round to put FURIA in a man advantaged position, but was let down by his team. On the other side was s1ren, who has had a superb tournament, stepping up in the biggest game with a superb showing of his own.
He put BB on 12 with a triple kill where they really should have converted, but molodoy dragged FURIA to overtime from 12-7 down. It was a crazy map of molodoy vs the world, and sadly for him, the world won.
Fortunately for us, we get to watch more BETBOOM tomorrow - who have been a joy to behold.
