Team Liquid embarrass PARIVISION at FISSURE Universe: Episode 5

After a third-place finish at their previous tournament, Team Liquid has bounced back to reach the grand finals of FISSURE Universe: Episode 5.

FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 is almost at its conclusion, with the first grand finalist in place. PARIVISION, after taking a short hiatus through June, were back after their last appearance saw a huge win at DreamLeague Season 26. Their return has already seen them march into a commanding position at FISSURE, having dominated Group A. Group B, on the other hand, was controlled by Team Liquid, who were still having a fairly up-and-down year. With the upper bracket finals, the two teams went head-to-head for a spot in the grand final.

Team Liquid blasts PARIVISION to the lower bracket

With both teams having topped their respective groups, it was set to be an epic upper bracket final, or so it seemed. However, that was definitely not the case. Much like during the Group Stage of PGL Wallachia Season 5, Tobias "Tobi" Buchner continued to stand in for Aydin "Insania" Sarkohi.

This has worked well for Liquid so far at FISSURE, with the team dropping only a single game during the Group Stage. The upper bracket final was a breeze for the team, taking down PARIVISION in two swift games. Michał "Nisha" Jankowski’s near-unkillable performance in the series was aided by some brilliant support plays, with PARIVISION managing only 9 kills in each game.

As such, Liquid became the first grand finalist of FISSURE Universe: Episode 5, as they look to set themselves up for the Esports World Cup 2025 with a spectacular win. For PARIVISION, all hope is not lost, as they enter the lower bracket finals, where they will need to get through Aurora Gaming or HEROIC if they want another shot at Liquid.

The FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 grand final is set to take place on July 4th, with the teams playing for their share of the $250,000 prize pool on offer, shortly before many of the teams get stuck in for the EWC.
