SabeRLight to play first set of qualifiers of the new season with AVULUS

Team Liquid’s offlaner, Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek will start the new season early, but not at his team.

In The International 2025 aftermath, SabeRLight has been benched on the Team Liquid roster and is allowed to play on a loan basis with AVULUS for the start of the 2025-2026 competitive season.

“I’ll be playing the upcoming sets of qualifiers with AVULUS before deciding on a permanent home for the rest of the season,” announced SabeRLight on X. “Super excited to own with these talented players and thanks to Avulus and Liquid for facilitating this loan!” While it’s unclear how Team Liquid’s line-up will look for the new season, it is quite certain that they won’t need to go through qualifier campaigns for the first couple of tournaments. However, for the smaller teams, the grind never stops.

AVULUS are one of the Western European teams that will need to prove their worth once again and will start the 2025-2026 season this coming Wednesday, September 24, with qualifier matches for DreamLeague Season 27. They are entering the battle for one of three slots up for grabs in the WEU closed qualifiers with four new players, including Jonáš "SabeRLight-" Volek.

In the meantime, Team Liquid haven’t made any official changes outside of benching SabeRLight.They are one of the teams directly invited to the first LAN tournament of the new season, BLAST Slam IV. The event will be held in Singapore from October 14 to November 9, featuring a total of 12 teams competing through four different tournament stages for the lion’s share of $1,000,000.
