
LoL Worlds 2027 will be hosted in Korea and KeSPA is seeking venues
Worlds is returning to Korea in 2027 and the Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) has launched a public bidding process to select a host city for the knockout stage of the 2027 League of Legends World Championship, inviting local governments across South Korea to submit proposals for the venue.
According to an announcement from the association, published on March 9, proposals are set to cover the tournament’s knockout stage, including the quarterfinals, semifinals and grand finals. Here’s what we know:
KeSPA is seeking a venue for LoL Worlds 2027
KeSPA’s bid process is to host the final stages of Worlds, featuring the eight remainig teams advanced from earlier stages. Cities interested in hosting the event must submit a letter of intent to KeSPA before the deadline of April 5, followed by a chance to submit full proposals. The association plans to evaluate the bids and announce the final host city in August 2026.
Worlds 2027, is ofcourse, the climax of the 2027 League of Legends competitive season, organized by Riot Games. The season-ending international tournament takes top teams from regional leagues across the globe to compete for the title.
The 2027 edition of the championship will be held in South Korea, marking the first time the country has hosted the tournament since 2023. The event is expected to run for roughly a month beginning in late October.
Worlds 2026, full title the League of Legends World Championship 2026, will be hosted in North America, however the cities, countries, and specific locations are yet to be announced.

The Korea e-Sports Association said the knockout stage of Worlds 2027 is expected to attract major domestic and international attention, as it determines the final world champion of the year’s competitive season.
KeSPA, Founded in 2000, is arguably the oldest and most storied esports governing body in the world. The association oversees and promotes esports in South Korea and works with domestic leagues, teams and international governing bodies to develop the industry.
The bidding process is being conducted in partnership with Riot Games Korea as part of preparations for hosting one of esports’ largest annual events.
