Tyler1 has unveiled a series of 1v1 tournaments pitting some of League of Legends’ best streamers and professional players against each other in the ultimate battle of individual skill.

Unveiled by Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp, a peerless LoL professional in his own right, on stream yesterday (April 24), the Tyler1 All-Stars 1v1 will pit players from Europe, North America, and South Korea against each other. Here’s the details:

Tyler1 All-Stars tournament is test of LoL professional’s 1v1 skill

From April 28, and continuing over the next few weeks, individual regions will compete in an eight-person bracket to decide who is the ultimate 1v1 champion. NA, EU, and KR rotate weekly, with EU’s event taking place first.

The competition will follow standard 1v1 League rules, taking place on the Howling Abyss match. That means the winner is decided by first blood, destroying the enemy turret, or reaching 100 CS first.

Players will select their hero using blind, although there are some global bans. Tryndamere, Lee Sin, Renektn, and Qiyana are banded, as well as the Demolish rune and Guardian Horn. Mirror matches are allowed, and all summoner spells are on the table.

If a player disconnects within the first 3 minutes, the game is restarted. After 3 minutes, the game continues unless both players agree to remake. Players can only compete in a single region, and the tournament uses the current live patch for the even.

The bracket will be double elimination, meaning two losses and you’re out. Each match is best-of-three with the finals a best of five.

The first event, taking place on April 28, 11:00am EDT, will feature eight European LoL competitors, including:

  • Baus
  • AloisNL
  • Diamondprox
  • Noway
  • TFblade
  • Solarbacca
  • NattyNat
  • Druttutt

While there’s obviously some one-trick players in the mix here, there’s also some solid generalists and streamers from across the scene. Diamondprox and Baus also obviously have pro experience, although the former more so than the latter.

Week 1 Matchups

  • Solarbacca vs. NattyNatt
  • AloisNL vs DiamondProx
  • Drututt vs. NoWay
  • TFBlade vs. Thebausffs

There's some close matchups in the first week, but just for us we'd have to highlight AloisNL vs. DiamondProx a potentially tight competition. Two former pros battling it out in a more or less evenly matched contest.

Meanwhile, potentially the biggest one-sided match could be TF Blade versus Baus. TheBaus is a more aggressive opponent than TF Blade, in a matchup were reaction time could trump experience.

All action will be broadcast on Tyler1’s Twitch channel, and can be caught there. Extra info can be found on the official website.

Tyler1 himself will unfortunately not be taking part, likely to focus on his practice for the upcoming Altar of Champions Warcraft III tournament, an event like-wise organized by Streamer and former pro-Warcraft II and Heroes of the Storm player Manuel “Grubby” Schenkhuizen.
