European esports organization G2 Esports has terminated its contract with coach and former player Luka “Perkz” Perković following a long-winded post on social media yesterday evening (Nov. 4).

The freshly eliminated from Worlds 2026 LEC team released the statement today (Nov. 5) following Perkz 2,600+ word tweet. In the post, Perkz touched on the reason for his retirement, his past support of disgraced G2 Esports founder Carlos "ocelote" Rodríguez Santiago, his religious beliefs, an admission of poaching in 2016, his opinion on Russia, Israel and Palestine, and his denouncement of abortion.

G2 terminates Perkz after tell-all tweet

The release of Perkz comes after a disaster group-stage elimination from G2 Esports despite an LEC Summer Split victory. That elimination, and the decisions around coaching that led to Perkz first being signed by G2, have fallen under intense scrutiny, seemingly leading Perkz to make his post.

In July of this year, following a disappointing end to MSI 2026, coach Dylan Falcon, who had won 11 regional titles with the team, and led G2 to its highest ever international finishes, was made inactive, with Perkz taking the reins. Falco’s contract was set to expire at the end of Worlds 2026, but he left the organization in August instead.

In his post, Perkz reasoned that he’d joined a team with bad morale to help fellow superstar and former teammate Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther.

But his comments about his tenure as coach and the Worlds 2026 run were overshadowed by the ‘miscellaneous’ content of the rest of the post. Starting off with a 1,000 words detailing his career, perhaps most notably admitting wholesale to being the driving force behind the poaching of Jesper "Zven" Svenningsen, Perkz then went on to condemn the Tate brothers, support former boss Carlos, then come out as a devout Catholic and condemn abortion.

Continuing, Perkz refuted claims of being a “Putin fanboy” or supporting Russia, then stating he was “not pro Israel and the genocide happening in Palestine," then stating he has no knowledge of the topic. Perkz then wrote he doesn’t like pop music or the mainstream media, before explaining he’d largely moved on from competing in esports to instead opening esports cafes in his home of Croatia.

Wrapping up the post, he finally addressed the Worlds 2026 and overall season.

Following Perkz’ post G2’s statement explained, without naming Perkz, that the head coach of one of its teams had been released, stating their views didn’t align with G2. The removal came after widespread criticism of Perkz’ oversized rant.

Now G2 is left without a head coach, and with seemingly a falling apart roster. Rumors are swirling that Rudy "SkewMond" Semaan will be leaving the team, seemingly after clashing with Perkz during his tenure. But equally, SkewMond’s relationship with Caps appears to be strained. The LEC champs are spiraling.
