League of Legends Game Changers returns for 2026 with Game Changers: Rising

League of Legends Game Changers, the official EMEA League of Legends competition for anyone identifying as a woman, will return as Riot Games unveils League of Legends Game Changers: Rising 2026.

After a teaser on Tuesday, May 5, LoL Game Changers: Rising 2026 was fully revealed on May 6. From May 29, Game Changers: Rising will see a dozen teams go head-to-head as they compete in league competition, battling for a spot in a spot in the October Playoff. Here's the details:

LoL Game Changers: Rising returns and women’s competitive League of Legends gets a new lease of life

Game Changes is the name Riot Games gives to its women-focused events, and has focused on both Riot’s FPS VALORANT and its flagship MOBA, League of Legends.

Revealed earlier this week, LoL Game Changers: Rising 2026 will feature a multiple stage competition with teams competing for qualifications for a playoff spot. As per Riot, the LGC’s stated aim is to “build a more inclusive EMEA ecosystem by connecting with national inclusive circuits across the region, we are also working to strengthen pathways that support the shared growth of the competitive scene.”

“Building an inclusive and supportive environment for all players is fundamental to what we do. The continuation and evolution of the League of Legends Game Changers goes beyond competition: it’s about actively creating the conditions for women across EMEA to step forward, compete at the highest level, and be seen and recognized for their talent and achievements.”

Riot has stressed it’s an open league, which makes it a more accessible option for teams, mirroring the ethos of the Game Changers program.

Signs that a major women’s League of Legends ecosystem was returning were on the cards as recently as late last week with rumors emerging that G2 Esports would be reactivating its women’s LoL roster, G2 Hel.

G2 Hel, which competed in both Game Changers, and Tier 2 LoL events, the Liga Nexo in the ERL. However in 2025, it was Eterna who took home the gold as the LGC Rising champions. It’s unknown at this time whether these teams will return.
