Bilibili Gaming’s top laner Bin announces break from play after disastrous MSI and EWC results

Bilibili Gaming’s starting top laner, Chen "Bin" Zebin, has announced he’s taking a break from competitive play for the start of China’s professional league, the LPL. Revealed by social post on July 21, Bin explained that he was taking a break due to “poor condition.”

The LPL 2026 Split 3, which is scheduled to start on July 22, would have seen Bin compete alongside his Bilibili teammates on July 23 against LGD. Now, a backup will likely take his place.

The break, first reported in Western media by LPL caster Alex “Nymaera” Hapgood, marks the first time Bilibili will have played without Bin since 2022, when the top laner joined from Royal Never Give Up, a regional rival.

Since then BB Gaming has risen to become one of the top teams in the LPL, and this year, won both the first two splits of the LPL 2026, and the First Stand kickoff tournament. However, after a defeat in the finals of MSI 2026, and an early exit from EWC 26, the team’s fortunes have seemingly changed.

Yang "Wenbo" Wenbo, of Bilibili Gaming Junior is expected to take Bin’s place in the starting lineup, although at the time of writing, nothing had been confirmed.

The hiatus for Bin potentially highlights a growing issue with competitive League of Legends in 2026: A compressed schedule, with lots of international travel, and little rest. In the past few months, top LPL teams like Bilibili will have had to compete in LPL Split finals, MSI, and EWC, before returning to the LPL regular season. The breaks between these events have in some cases been as short as three or four days.
