Nisha takes a break from competitive Dota 2

Team Liquid announced that mid laner Michał “Nisha” Jankowski is taking an extended break from competitive Dota 2, bringing an end to a four-year tenure that brought a second Aegis of Champions for the organisation.
Nisha joined Team Liquid in November 2022, leaving Team Secret after four years to seek a new challenge. It proved to be a career-defining decision. The Polish mid laner went on to win The International 2024, cementing his place among the greatest mid laners in Dota 2 history.
Under the Team Liquid banner, he also claimed two PGL Wallachia titles, the BLAST Slam VI and 1win Essence II trophies, along with a runner-up finish at Riyadh Masters 2024.
Until he decides to return to competitive play, Nisha leaves behind a legacy few can match. He is one of only a handful of players to have achieved success at the highest level in both core positions, carry and mid.
Nisha’s departure is the latest in a series of changes for Team Liquid during the post-TI 2026 shuffle.
Earlier this month, the organisation parted ways with offlaner Marcus “Ace” Christensen after nearly a year with the team. On September 20, Team Liquid completed their new-look roster by signing Adrián “Wisper” Dobles, the renowned South American offlaner who most recently played for LGD Gaming
MidOne steps in
With Nisha stepping away, Team Liquid needed a temporary solution for their first tournament of the new season. That solution comes in the form of Yeik “MidOne” Zheng, who will stand in at BLAST Slam VIII.
MidOne is a familiar name to longtime Dota 2 fans, having spent years as a star mid laner for Team Secret and later MOUZ, where he won PGL Wallachia Season 6. His stint with Team Liquid will be a trial by fire. BLAST Slam VIII begins on September 29 and runs through October 11, featuring 16 teams competing for a $750,000 prize pool.
