Scofield takes temporary break from professional Dota 2

PlayTime have announced that Elvis "Scofield" Peña will take a temporary break from competitive Dota 2.

The organization confirmed the news on Instagram, saying it respects and supports Scofield's decision and hopes the time away will give him an opportunity to "rest and recharge." PlayTime did not provide a timeline for his return, but indicated that the door remains open for the veteran support to rejoin the team.

The break follows a season in which PlayTime were consistently among South America's strongest teams but repeatedly found themselves competing with the former HEROIC roster, later signed by LGD Gaming, for the region's limited international places.

PlayTime ultimately missed out on The International 2026, with South America receiving just one qualifier spot. LGD claimed the berth after defeating PlayTime 3-1 in the regional qualifier grand final.

Their season was also disrupted surrounding Esports World Cup when midlaner Gonzalo "DarkMago" Herrera was provisionally suspended alongside pTiME and Vintage as part of an ESIC investigation, ruling all three players out of the event.

PlayTime's most recent tournament appearance came at Games of the Future 2026, where they ended their season on a high by taking first place.

Scofield, one of South America's longest-standing professional players, had previously spoken about considering taking time away from competition. For now, both the wording of PlayTime's announcement and its message that it hopes to welcome him back suggest a break rather than a retirement from professional Dota 2. There is no official information on who will assume his position on the team or if there will be any other roster changes before the official season kicks off.
