ESIC suspends PTime's DarkMago and Vintage amid EWC 2026 integrity investigation

The Esports Integrity Commission has issued provisional suspensions to two members of the Peruvian Dota 2 squad PTime (also known as PlayTime) following suspected breaches of the Anti-Corruption Code and the Player Code of Conduct at the Esports World Cup 2026.
Midlaner Oswaldo "DarkMago" Herrera and coach Juan "Vintage" Angulo have been temporarily suspended from all Esports World Cup 2026 activities and ESIC member events with immediate effect.
The suspension goes further for Vintage, who is also barred from "undertaking coaching, management, strategic, team-facing or other support functions connected with participating teams or players. The decision comes a week into the Dota 2 competition at EWC and a few hours after the elimination series between PTime and Vici Gaming was rescheduled on Tuesday, July 14, after “an integrity issue was identified and referred for review. “
Protective, not punitive
ESIC emphasised in its official announcement that these measures are "protective and precautionary" rather than punitive. The commission stated that no final determination of guilt has been made.
Both DarkMago and Vintage have been notified of the allegations, interviewed by ESIC investigators, and given the opportunity to respond and submit relevant material.
Any resulting tournament administration or competition decisions relating to the Esports World Cup 2026 will be communicated separately by the Esports Foundation
However, EWC and Esports Foundation haven’t made any announcements as of yet. PTime vs Vici Gaming series in the Survival Stage is still postponed for the time being.
