PVISION rise to the challenge, becoming champions of the Esports World Cup 2026

After thirteen days of intense Dota 2 action, the grand finals of the Esports World Cup 2026 was upon us. PVISION and BB Team would be the two teams fighting it out to become the champions. However, before we got to the grand finals, third and fourth place needed to be decided, as Team Yandex and Vici Gaming battled it out for the consolation prizes.

It was an easy victory for Yandex, dominating throughout the series and securing third place at EWC 2026. But, with that out of the way, it was time to crown the champion in the grand finals.

Everyone expected an intense best-of-five series between these two teams, but what we got was even better. BB kept their cool in the first game, holding off a strong late game Phantom Lancer from Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov, thanks to an unkillable Timbersaw from Matvey “MieRo`” Vasyunin. But the fight back to tie the series from PV in Game 2 was epic, in an hour-long brawl, as the teams were back to even standings.

After their loss, BB seemed to be in disarray, while PV went into overdrive, playing nearly perfectly around the map. Game 3 would see BB struggle to really pressure their opponents at all, and eventually went the way of PV. This victory would put them on championship point, and with the trophy in their sights, they destroyed BB in what would be the final game of the series. Game 4 would only see 7 kills for BB, as they could not find any openings for pickoffs or farm across the map.

With no possibility of a comeback, and PV shutting the door on any attempted pickoffs, BB threw in the towel, settling for second place. For PVISION, as they dropped only three games throughout the entire EWC 2026 tournament, the trophy belonged to them, taking a huge victory to match their DreamLeague Season 29 win from earlier this year.

The top 4 at EWC 2026 and their winnings are:

• First place: PVISION - $750,000
• Second place: BB Team – $340,000
• Third place: Team Yandex - $200,000
• Fourth place: Vici Gaming - $120,000

In addition to their victory, the tournament MVP prize went to Evgeniy "Noticed" Ignatenko, who scored himself an extra $25,000 for his amazing performances throughout the event.

With EWC 2026 now over, many of the teams begin their preparations for The International 2026, with only one minor stop on the way to Shanghai, China in August.
