EWC 2026 Grand Finals preview: PVISION farming simulator vs BB Team's teamfight appetite

Esports World Cup 2026 grand finals are the biggest chance at changing the narrative for BB Team, who have been constantly bullied by PVISION throughout the entire season.

BB Team and PVISION have played against each other six times this year, with the former emerging victorious just once. That happened back in February, during the group stage at DreamLeague Season 28. The last time these two played against each other in a grand final was more than a year ago, in May 2025, at DreamLeague Season 25, where PVISION swept BB Team 3-0.

A lot has changed for both teams since then. For PVISION, the change included a new offlaner, with Evgeniy "Noticed" Ignatenko joining only a month ago. For BB Team, the changes came in gameplay and mentality.

For the past couple of months, Dota 2 fans have witnessed a reinvented BB Team that knows how to shake off a botched team fight or a game loss.

As the competitive season reached its pinnacle, BB Team looks sharper than ever. Their discipline has improved, although they have never dropped the idea of creating controlled chaos on the map; the game plan and the execution are now net superior compared to the start of the season.

Meanwhile, PVISION enter the grand finals as the rank 1 team of the season. They reached the grand finals by overcoming their kryptonite and finally breaking a four-match winless streak against Team Yandex.

Two players from each team stood out in the semifinals at EWC: PVISION eliminated Yandex with a deathless game three from Alan "Satanic" Gallyamov on Lone Druid, while BB Team eliminated Vici Gaming with a deathless performance across both games from their position 4 support, Vitalie "Save-" Melnic.

It’s extremely rare to see players in the carry or soft support roles finishing such high-stakes matches with zero deaths to their name, which makes both Satanic’s and Save’s performances even more incredible if you come to think that this just happened in the EWC semifinals.

PVISION: The hyper carry machine

Satanic is at the heart of the overall game plan for PVISION. They like to play aggressively, although most of the time, they play for the late and super late game scenarios. By doing that for as long as the team has existed, PVISION has learned to minimise errors.

Across their EWC run, PVISION’s cores have remarkably low death counts, which proves that they have superior map awareness and heavy team coordination designed to protect their win condition at all costs. Their win condition is Satanic.

Satanic’s stats at EWC 2026 are staggering, averaging 839.27 GPM and 513.87 last hits per game.

In Paris, he proved to be the ultimate hyper-carry with 10.4 kills and only 2.47 average deaths per game. Those stats alone show that he knows how to convert farm into clinical victories. Despite being one of the youngest players in the competition, the 18-year-old’s farming/fighting efficiency conversion is as good as it gets.

PVISION’s support duo of Edgar "9Class" Naltakian and Andrey "Dukalis" Kuropatkin provides the overall game plan foundation. Along with Volodymyr "No[o]ne-" Minenko, the scene's mid lane veteran, they create the space for Satanic to farm while also protecting him at all costs.

BB Team: The chaos engine

So far at EWC 2026, the BB Team has played a fundamentally different game from PVISION. They are scrappier, more willing to take early skirmishes and their carry, Ilya "Kiritych" Ulyanov, tends to show in early fights more often rather than patiently farming.

The key differentiator for BB Team seems to be in their backline. Save- functions as the primary playmaker, roamer, and chaos agent, having a massive 17.75 average assists per game, while Kataomi plays the ultimate sacrificial role.

Save’s most played heroes in Paris are Mirana, Shadow Shaman and Ringmaster. A completely different hero pool than 9class. The only overlapping hero between these two players is Keeper of the Light. Since he joined the tier one ranks, PVISION’s 9class has constantly been compared with the all-time GOAT for position 4 supports, Jesse "JerAx" Vainikka.

9class has an unconventional hero pool for his role; he has his own ideas about the game, and his playstyle is quite literally unmatched in today’s modern Dota.

However, after a season of seeing him on either Slark support, Terrorblade, Huskar, Monkey King, you name it, at EWC 2026, he has only traditional supports played, with Dark Willow and Keeper of the Light as his most played ones. Both are heroes that excel at harassing the lane while also providing an incredible amount of team fight control.

BB Team, on the other hand, tends to secure the team fight tools via their position 5 support, Vladislav "Kataomi`" Semenov, who brought at EWC his signature Winter Wyvern, along with Undying, Treant Protector, Witch Doctor or Disruptor, while Save is now playing more like 9class than 9class himself.

What the numbers don’t say

Both teams carry momentum into the Esports World Cup 2026 grand finals and enter uncharted territory, as neither has been to an EWC grand final before.

PARIVISION enter as the slight favourite. Their consistency, 12-match win streak, and history over BB Team give them the edge. But BB Team have shown impressive tournament discipline, which has historically been their weakness. If they can disrupt PVISION's early-game tempo and prevent Satanic from reaching critical mass, they have a legitimate chance to an upset.
