PARIVISION, SAR, and Liquid eliminated as Falcons book lower bracket final spot

Three more teams have been eliminated from PGL Wallachia Season 8. It was a long day at PGL Studios — Falcons kicked off at 9am CEST and their last series didn't conclude until nearly 10:30 pm CEST — and by the end of it, PARIVISION, South America Rejects, and Team Liquid were all out. Team Falcons advanced to face Aurora Gaming in the lower bracket final, with a spot in the grand finals on the line.

Falcons eliminate PARIVISION — 2:0

Falcons opened their day in clinical fashion. Game 1 was all Falcons from start to finish — Skiter delivered a perfect game on Alchemist, leaving PARIVISION with no answers and no path back into it. Game 2 was harder earned, a more competitive affair that required Falcons to work for it, but they closed it out nonetheless. PARIVISION, who secured their playoff spot with a top three in the group stage couldn't exit with a top three finish.

Liquid eliminate South America Rejects — 2:0

SAR's remarkable run at PGL Wallachia Season 8 comes to an end at the hands of Team Liquid. Game 1 was overwhelmingly in Liquid's favor — they controlled it from early and never let SAR find a footing. Game 2 was a different test, harder fought and longer, but Liquid had enough to take it in the end. For SAR, who came into this tournament competing simultaneously in DreamLeague Division 2 and grinding through the loser side of the Swiss bracket day after day, reaching the playoffs remains their best result to date. The run ends here, but their story and future do not.

Falcons eliminate Team Liquid — 2:1

The final elimination series of the day, played at the end of a long run for both teams, was the sharpest contest. Falcons took Game 1 with a clean, precise performance — the kind that has come in flashes throughout a tournament they've looked more dangerous in than much of their recent season would suggest. Liquid answered in Game 2 with a perfect game from Micke on Kez, levelling the series and forcing a decider. Game 3 went Falcons' way after 74 minutes, three Rapiers on the ground and a wild hype ending.

For Liquid, the exit stings a little more given their history with this event — they finished 3rd at Wallachia Season 6 and 2nd at Season 7, making them one of the more consistent performers in this tournament's recent history. That consistency ends here this season. For Falcons, a team that has had a difficult year and hadn't reached a tournament final in some time, advancing to the lower bracket final against Aurora is a meaningful step forward. Whether that momentum carries into tomorrow is the question.

Tomorrow brings the lower bracket final — Falcons vs Aurora Gaming — and the grand finals, where BetBoom Team await.
