BetBoom Team fight their way into the grand finals of PGL Wallachia Season 8
A spot in the grand final of PGL Wallachia Season 8 was earned by BetBoom Team, after an intense upper bracket final series against Aurora Gaming.
PGL Wallachia Season 8’s playoffs have seen many teams fall by the wayside, but in the upper bracket final today, Aurora Gaming or BetBoom Team would lock themselves in for a guaranteed top 2 finish for the event. Both teams swept their way through the Group Stages of the event and survived the first two stages of the upper bracket to meet in the upper bracket final. While both teams were looking for a big win, one would move into the grand finals, while the other would need to brave the lower bracket.
BetBoom move one step closer to a 2026 tournament victory
Aurora and BetBoom went into their upper bracket finals series full of gusto. While Aurora saw some sparks of brilliance, it was BB Team on the front foot in the late game. Aurora’s promising start surmounted to nothing once BB Team found their foothold. Eventually, after a little over 80 minutes, Aurora threw in the towel, giving BB Team the first game of the series.
But the series was far from over, with Aurora absolutely destroying BB Team in Game 2. It was absolute domination from the runner’s up of DreamLeague Season 28, as they broke down any defence their opponent had to tie everything up. At 1-1, there was now everything to play for as the two upper bracket finalists went into a deciding matchup for a guaranteed top 2 finish at PGL Wallachia Season 8.
The final game of the series was all BB Team’s domain. With an unstoppable Huskar for Danil “gpk” Skutin going 15/0/9, the team crushed Aurora’s hopes of taking the win. A quick end to the game from BB Team saw them taking a fantastic 2-1 victory as they secured themselves a spot in the grand finals of PGL Wallachia Season 8.
For Aurora, they will need to take down Team Falcons or Team Liquid in the lower bracket finals to earn a chance at revenge when PGL Wallachia Season 8 concludes on Sunday, April 26th.
